Scientific Project Manager
Location: Remote
Duration: CTH (Need Independent Candidates)
The ideal candidate is a scientist with a Ph.D. in life, health, or medical sciences who is developing a deep interest in computer science and bioinformatics. While the Scientific Project Manager is not expected to develop technical systems, the candidate must have or be willing to become conversant in the state-of-the-art of modern, Cloud-based Web and mobile application design and development frameworks.

  • You are passionate about the potential of data sharing and analytics in pursuit of scientific discovery.
  • You learn and apply new technologies, skills, and concepts easily.
  • You have the vision and creativity to contribute product design ideas.
Responsibilities:
  • Focus the team on the Epics and Features that most effectively contribute to completing the project's short- and long-term goals.
  • Provide scientific leadership and education to the technical team and explain design and priority decisions regarding the impact on the scientific research programs we support.
  • Contribute to UI/UX designs, workflows, and business rules as a representative of the end user scientific community.
  • Interface with the Government client, leadership teams, and scientific research stakeholders to collect requirements, define priorities, and ensure sufficient resources are available to reach the program's goals.
  • Lead the creation of periodic progress reports and performance metrics that illustrate the positive impact of the program on the scientific research goals of the client.
  • Assist the principal investigator in managing budgets, resources, staff, and contractual requirements.
  • Requirements
  • Ph.D. in the life, health, or medical sciences
  • Education or experience in one or more of the following: bioinformatics, Cloud architecture and services, software development, data analysis and visualization, scientific data management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred:
  • Experience in clinical trial regulatory process or data management
  • Expertise in epidemiology or public health
  • Previous work in a Data Coordinating Center
  • Familiarity with the Agile software development environment
