As a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker within a school setting, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the mental health landscape for students, ensuring they have the necessary support to thrive both academically and socially.

• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments for students to identify emotional, social, and financial challenges impacting their academic performance.
• Provide tailored individual and group counseling sessions aimed at helping students navigate adjustment issues, grief, and other emotional difficulties.
• Collaborate with teachers and school administrators to create and implement individualized support plans that address the specific needs of students.
• Coordinate with community organizations to facilitate post-referral services, ensuring a seamless transition for students requiring additional support.
• Offer educational workshops for students, families, and school staff to enhance awareness around mental health resources and coping strategies.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, contributing your expertise in social work to foster a team-based approach in supporting students.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements, ensuring all records are confidential and secure.

In this role, you will primarily work with students from diverse backgrounds, including those facing emotional or behavioral challenges, those needing support during critical transitions, and students at risk of academic failure due to mental health issues. Understanding and addressing the unique needs of this population is essential for effective intervention and support.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in the state of Washington.
• In-depth understanding of mental health disorders, crisis intervention techniques, and the social, emotional, and academic needs of students.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills.

• At least two years of experience working in educational settings or in a mental health capacity within schools.
• Demonstrated ability to create and lead workshops or educational sessions focused on counseling and mental health awareness.
• Familiarity with digital tools and platforms for remote counseling and psychoeducation.
