• Conduct thorough assessments of students to identify mental health and substance use issues.
• Create and implement individualized treatment plans utilizing evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
• Facilitate psychotherapy sessions tailored to the unique needs of each student, focusing on recovery from substance abuse and other mental health concerns.
• Maintain accurate, confidential, and compliant clinical records in accordance with regulations and organizational protocols.
• Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary treatment teams to ensure a comprehensive approach to student care.
• Provide education and resources to students and families regarding mental health and substance abuse issues.
• Stay informed about the latest research and advances in the field of social work and mental health, incorporating new knowledge into clinical practice.
• Manage a caseload efficiently while striving to meet treatment goals and uphold ethical standards of practice.

You will primarily work with diverse student populations, many of whom may be grappling with substance abuse issues alongside various mental health challenges. Your role will be crucial in identifying these issues early and providing prompt intervention to support their recovery and overall well-being.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid LCSW license in the state of Virginia.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience with a focus on substance abuse therapy.
• Proficient understanding of solution-focused interventions and therapeutic techniques.
• Exceptional communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills are essential.

While not mandatory, experience in school-based settings or with adolescent populations is highly valued. Familiarity with community resources and interventions for mental health and substance abuse is also advantageous.
