Title: SBA Business Development Officer (BDO)
Location: Southern Idaho (Boise metro preferred; flexible within Southern ID)
Work Type: Hybrid / Remote (market-based)
Compensation: Base salary + uncapped incentive compensation

Overview

We are expanding our SBA lending footprint in Southern Idaho and are seeking an experienced SBA Business Development Officer (BDO) to help build and grow the market. This is an opportunity to join a top-tier SBA platform with strong credit support, proven leadership, and significant growth momentum.

The ideal candidate is a relationship-driven SBA lender with strong referral sources, a solid understanding of SBA 7(a) lending, and the ability to independently source, structure, and close quality SBA transactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate and manage SBA 7(a) loan opportunities within the Southern Idaho market

  • Develop and maintain referral relationships with CPAs, attorneys, business brokers, commercial real estate professionals, and other centers of influence

  • Source new SBA loan opportunities while managing an active pipeline

  • Work closely with internal credit, underwriting, and closing teams to efficiently move deals to funding

  • Structure transactions in compliance with SBA SOP guidelines and internal credit standards

  • Represent the bank in market-facing activities, networking events, and business development efforts

  • Meet or exceed individual annual production goals while maintaining credit quality

Production Expectations

  • Target annual production: ~$12MM per BDO (Level 3)

  • Team annual goal: ~$30MM with strong upside potential

  • Platform is positioned for significant year-over-year growth

Compensation & Incentives

  • Base salary: Approximately $120,000โ€“$130,000 (flexible based on experience)

  • Incentive compensation: Up to ~2% of funded volume

  • Top-tier performers have strong earning potential well above base

  • Brokered deals permitted, though they may impact incentive payout

Support & Platform Strength

  • Dedicated SBA credit and support staff in place

  • Experienced SBA leadership and sales management

  • Established SBA infrastructure with proven historical production

  • Growth-focused environment with leadership investment in Idaho expansion (including planned LPO presence)

Qualificationsclaude

  • Proven experience originating SBA 7(a) loans

  • Existing referral network within Idaho or adjacent markets preferred

  • Strong understanding of SBA credit structures, eligibility, and SOP requirements

  • Ability to work independently in a market-facing role

  • High integrity, strong reputation, and long-term relationship mindset

Location & Flexibility

  • Preferred location: Boise metro or Southern Idaho

  • Open to remote/work-from-home arrangements for the right candidate within the region
