Description
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design, development, enhancement, and support of Salesforce solutions in a Salesforce Government Cloud environment.
  • Provide technical leadership to a team of Salesforce engineers, including solution direction, code reviews, mentoring, standards enforcement, and delivery oversight.
  • Design and maintain secure, scalable Salesforce configurations and customizations that align with federal security, compliance, and mission requirements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Salesforce Profiles, user access architecture, object permissions, field-level security, sharing rules, role hierarchy, and overall platform security model.
  • Assess, support, optimize, and modernize legacy Workflow Rules and related automation; lead the transition of automation patterns to Flow Builder and other modern Salesforce capabilities where appropriate.
  • Design, build, and maintain advanced Salesforce automations using Flow, approval processes, validation rules, Apex, triggers, and related platform tools.
  • Develop custom Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and standard platform capabilities.
  • Architect and implement integrations between Salesforce and external systems using REST/SOAP APIs, MuleSoft, ETL/data migration tools, and other enterprise integration patterns.
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, administrators, analysts, cybersecurity teams, and stakeholders to translate mission and business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Establish and enforce engineering best practices for source control, CI/CD, release management, testing, documentation, and deployment.
  • Support environment strategy, data migration, troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and production support for complex platform issues.
  • Contribute to technical roadmaps, platform governance, and long-term modernization strategy for Salesforce capabilities supporting NASA programs.

Requirements
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering, enterprise applications, or CRM platform engineering.
  • Extensive hands-on experience as a Salesforce Engineer, Salesforce Developer, or Salesforce Technical Lead in complex enterprise environments.
  • Deep expertise with Salesforce Profiles, platform security, access controls, and user provisioning strategies.
  • Extensive experience with Salesforce Workflow Rules, including analyzing legacy automation, troubleshooting behavior, and planning modernization efforts.
  • Strong experience with Salesforce Flow / Flow Builder and modern declarative automation design.
  • Strong hands-on development experience with:
    • Apex
    • SOQL/SOSL
    • Lightning Web Components (LWC)
    • Triggers
    • Salesforce deployment and release processes
  • Strong experience designing and supporting Salesforce integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, MuleSoft, middleware, and ETL/data migration tools.
  • Experience or mentoring other engineers in a senior or lead capacity.
  • Experience working in regulated, secure, or federal environments, with an understanding of compliance-driven development and operational practices.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience supporting NASA or other federal civilian agencies.
  • Prior experience working specifically in Salesforce Government Cloud or similarly regulated Salesforce environments.
  • Experience modernizing legacy Salesforce automation from Workflow Rules and Process Builder to Flow.
  • Experience with DevOps and deployment tools such as Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub, Copado, Gearset, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery models in federal programs.
  • Salesforce certifications are preferred but not required, such as:
    • Salesforce Administrator
    • Advanced Administrator
    • Platform Developer I
    • Platform Developer II
    • Application Architect
