What is a remote robotics job?

A Remote Robotics job involves designing, programming, monitoring, or maintaining robotic systems from a remote location. This can include teleoperating robots, developing automation software, or troubleshooting robotic hardware via cloud-based platforms. Remote robotics professionals work in industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, aerospace, and logistics. These roles often require expertise in robotics engineering, programming, and network communications. Advances in AI and IoT have made remote robotics more accessible and crucial for automation and efficiency.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the remote robotics position, and why are they important?

To thrive in Remote Robotics, you need a strong foundation in robotics engineering, computer programming (especially Python, C++, or ROS), and experience with remote system monitoring and troubleshooting. Familiarity with teleoperation platforms, cloud-based control systems, and remote diagnostics tools is essential, with relevant certifications such as CSWA or ROS Developer often preferred. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication are valuable soft skills for collaborating across distributed teams. These skills ensure you can efficiently design, monitor, and maintain robotic systems from a distance while collaborating with colleagues and clients in dynamic environments.

What are some typical challenges faced by professionals in remote robotics roles?

One of the most common challenges in Remote Robotics is troubleshooting hardware and software issues without direct, on-site access, which requires strong analytical and remote diagnostic skills. Professionals in this field often navigate time zone differences and coordinate closely with local technical staff or end users to resolve issues quickly. Effective communication and clear documentation become critical to ensure remote instructions are followed accurately. Additionally, staying up-to-date with evolving technologies and security protocols is essential for maintaining optimal system performance and data safety.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the university recruiting strategy and campus program experience end-to-end, including sourcing, outreach, and onboarding of candidates.

  • Support and coordinate program logistics, onboarding, scheduling, and monitor program health across multiple locations.

  • Build and foster a cohesive campus community through events, cultural activities, and facilitating onboarding and milestone moments.

Job description

Agility's commercially deployed humanoids operate alongside teams in warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers—tackling physically demanding and repetitive tasks while enabling workers to focus on higher-value work. With industry-leading safety standards and years of proven deployment data, we're pioneering a new era of automation that enhances human potential.

About The Role

You will own our university recruiting strategy and campus program experience end-to-end. This isn't just a seasonal recruiting job—you will drive a continuous, year-round pipeline targeting early-career talent across multiple sites. Your mission is twofold: recruit exceptional campus talent across various teams and create an energized, seamless environment so top students choose Agility for their full-time careers.

About The Work

Recruiting & Pipeline Management

  • Drive Year-Round Sourcing: Own the full candidate lifecycle from initial contact through full-time onboarding. Run continuous outreach to support rolling intake tied to academic calendars and business needs.
  • Anchor Key Partnerships: Deepen relationships with core university partners, leveraging leadership ties to build a trusted pipeline across our footprint.
  • Cast a Wide Net: Source broadly by targeting university programs, competitions, specialized research labs, open applications, and referrals to find top talent nationwide.
  • Focus on Long-Term Impact: Evaluate every candidate with an eye toward full-time career potential, prioritizing high-caliber talent across AI, engineering, and broader business functions.

Program Coordination & Manager Enablement

  • Support Hosting Managers: Serve as a operational partner for managers. Provide lightweight templates for project scoping, check-in cadences, and evaluations so managers can focus on mentorship.
  • Streamline Operations: Handle onboarding, scheduling, and program logistics across all locations so the campus experience remains smooth and consistent.
  • Monitor Program Health: Proactively check in with early-career hires and hiring managers across all sites to resolve friction early and track long-term retention.

Campus Experience & Community

  • Build Cross-Site Culture: Unify our distributed locations through regular rituals, including cross-site demos, informal social gatherings, and speaker/learning sessions.
  • Manage Milestone Moments: Facilitate cohesive onboarding kickoffs, mid-program check-ins, and company-wide presentations.
  • Foster Onsite Energy: Help cultivate a hands-on, highly visible environment where early-career talent works on real systems and solves critical real-world problems from day one.

About You

  • Experience: 3-5+ years in university recruiting, campus programs, or talent acquisition, preferably within high-tech, hardware, AI, or robotics environments.
  • Relationship Builder: Proven track record of developing relationships with university career centers, research labs, student organizations, and academic leadership.
  • Program Management Skills: Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing logistics, events, and candidate tracking across multiple locations.
  • Candidate-Centric Mindset: Passionate about candidate experience, ensuring students leave as enthusiastic ambassadors for Agility regardless of offer outcomes.
  • Communication: Exceptional presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage business leaders, campus partners, and students alike.
