The Position
As a Registered Nurse at our cardiology outpatient clinic, you will be instrumental in assessing and educating patients on their cardiac health, guided by our physicians. Your role includes telephone triage, emergency assistance, individualized patient education, and collaboration with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care and outcomes. This position is a blend of clinical excellence and compassionate patient interaction, offering nursing professionals a dynamic and fulfilling work environment.

Your Day-to-Day work
  • Conduct telephone triage to assess patient needs, prioritize calls based on urgency, and respond promptly to emergent, urgent, and non-urgent inquiries.
  • Develop and deliver individualized patient education programs focused on diagnosis, procedures, and treatment plans to enhance patient understanding and care.
  • Collaborate closely with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure seamless communication and the highest standards of patient care.
  • Serve as a cardiac health resource and educator for office staff and the broader community, promoting awareness and understanding.
  • Monitor and manage abnormal test results, facilitating appropriate referrals and follow-ups while maintaining meticulous documentation of all patient interactions and care provided.

Environment and Shift details:
This role is full-time, Monday - Friday-closed weekends and holidays.
Experience
Must-Haves
  • Educational Background: Completion of an accredited nursing program.
  • Licensing: An active Washington Registered Nurse License at the time of hire.
  • Certification: National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association, obtained before starting.
  • Experience: Ideally, you have at least 1 year of nursing experience.

Nice-to-Haves (You will still be considered, even if you do not have the experience below)
  • Specialized Experience: 1 year of experience in cardiology, PCU, ICU, or ER/ED
  • Additional Experience: 2 years of RN experience in an outpatient or hospital setting
