• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments to evaluate the emotional and social needs of clients and their families facing terminal illnesses.
• Facilitate individual, family, and group therapy sessions using evidence-based practices such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and mindfulness approaches to help clients cope with grief and loss.
• Develop tailored treatment plans that address specific client needs, incorporating feedback from clients and collaborating healthcare providers.
• Implement crisis intervention strategies when necessary, providing risk assessments and safety planning to ensure client stability.
• Maintain accurate, thorough documentation of client interactions and treatment progress in compliance with ethical standards and regulatory requirements.
• Lead psychoeducation classes for clients and families, providing resources on coping mechanisms, bereavement processes, and mental health awareness.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive care is delivered, participating in treatment team meetings to discuss client progress.

This position focuses on supporting clients in a hospice care setting, often dealing with complex emotional states related to terminal illness and impending loss. You will work closely with clients of diverse backgrounds and age groups, recognizing the unique challenges faced by each individual and their families during this sensitive period.

• A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited program is essential.
• Active state licensure as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Washington State is required.
• A profound understanding of the mental health landscape, particularly in palliative care, is necessary.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, and communication skills are vital for effective collaboration and client engagement.

• A minimum of two years of experience in a mental health or outpatient care setting, with a focus on hospice or palliative care preferred.
