Avella Behavioral Health Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. This position is entirely remote, leveraging technology to deliver high-quality mental health services through telehealth platforms. • Conduct initial evaluations through telehealth to thoroughly assess clients' mental, behavioral, and emotional health, documenting findings accurately for ongoing care.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans, integrating interventions for individuals, families, and groups while aligning with best practices.
• Facilitate dynamic individual and group therapy sessions that address a wide range of mental health challenges, leveraging various therapeutic modalities.
• Monitor clients' progress, adjusting treatment protocols as necessary to promote optimal recovery and engagement.
• Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, sharing insights and strategies for holistic client care.
• Follow up with clients and their healthcare providers as needed, ensuring a coordinated care approach, especially for those requiring hospitalization.
• Proactively identify and address behaviors that may hinder clients' recovery, equipping them with tools to navigate their challenges effectively.
• Support family members and caregivers, providing resources and strategies to better manage mental health challenges within the family unit.

Our clients encompass a broad demographic, including children, adolescents, adults, and elderly individuals facing various mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and substance use disorders. • A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Georgia.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Demonstrated ability to work in a clinical setting, showcasing exceptional clinical judgment and insight.

• Prior experience as a mental health counselor in a telehealth environment is advantageous.
• Proficiency in electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR or comparable platforms.
• A background in managing clients with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders.
• Familiarity with the guidelines and practices endorsed by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• In-depth understanding of the implications of psychotropic medications commonly prescribed in a clinical setting.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, tailored to engage effectively with clients and team members.
• An empathetic approach, along with the ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds and circumstances.
