The Opioid Epidemic is a public health crisis with a highly effective but underutilized clinical intervention - millions of Americans are physically dependent on Opioids but only 10% of those likely to have OUD actually access treatment. The Nurse Practitioner also addresses co-occurring mental health conditions directly when appropriate, and also via referral and care-coordination with outside providers. The NP/PA participates actively in regular clinical team meetings and quality improvement activities, collaborates with our program physicians and therapists, and reports to the regional medical director.
