Presence of Mind Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our team on a full-time basis. • Conduct thorough initial interviews and assessments to document client cases from the first consultation through the completion of their treatment journey.
• Assess the mental, emotional, and behavioral health of clients to understand their unique needs and challenges.
• Develop and implement customized intervention and recovery plans tailored for individuals, couples, families, and groups.
• Facilitate engaging and effective individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based approaches.
• Continuously monitor client progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans to meet evolving needs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams that include psychologists, psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers to create comprehensive intervention strategies.
• Provide follow-up and coordination for clients requiring hospitalization, ensuring they receive holistic and timely support.
• Identify behaviors negatively impacting recovery and provide proactive strategies for rehabilitation.
• Support family members and primary caregivers in managing the mental and behavioral challenges faced by their loved ones.

Our client base includes individuals facing a wide range of mental health issues, from anxiety and depression to relationship and family dynamics. As a counselor at Presence of Mind Counseling Center, you will be working with diverse populations, offering culturally sensitive care tailored to the unique backgrounds and circumstances of each client. You will play a pivotal role in guiding clients through their recovery, striving towards enhanced emotional wellness and personal growth.

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current, valid licensure as an LMFT, LCPC, or LCSW in the state of Nevada.
• A passing score on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
• Demonstrated previous experience as a mental health counselor, showcasing your ability to manage diverse client cases.
• Familiarity with electronic health record systems, specifically AVATAR, to aid in efficient case management.
• A comprehensive understanding of various mental health conditions, substance abuse issues, and their treatments.
• Awareness of best practices in mental health care as outlined by the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA).
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills for effectively interacting with clients and other professionals.
• An empathetic nature that is essential for providing exceptional client care.

• Experience working with populations facing co-occurring disorders or complex mental health issues.
• Proficiency in evidence-based therapeutic approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
• Experience in crisis intervention and developing safety plans for at-risk clients.
