The Director, Media is responsible for leading the strategy, planning, and execution of integrated media programs across both traditional and digital channels for assigned clients. This role oversees day-to-day media operations, manages and mentors a team of media professionals, and serves as a primary media partner to clients. The Director, Media works cross-functionally with account, analytics, strategy, creative, channel, and programmatic teams to deliver impactful media solutions that drive business outcomes. Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day media strategy, planning, and execution across awareness and performance marketing channels to deliver against client objectives.
  • Serve as the primary media contact for assigned clients, building trusted relationships and ensuring alignment on deliverables, timelines, and performance expectations.
  • Oversee the development of media strategies and plans, including RFP development, partner selection, and media mix recommendations.
  • Review and approve planning deliverables such as flowcharts, digital schedules, reporting, optimization strategies, and financial reconciliation to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Partner with Business Development and Media Leadership teams on new business pitches, contributing media strategy and presentation development.
  • Manage, coach, and develop media supervisors, planners, and coordinators.
  • Contribute to the operational growth of the media practice through standardized processes, templates, and best practices.
  • Stay current on media and industry trends and apply insights to client solutions.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of media experience across digital and traditional channels.
  • 5+ years working within an integrated media team in a client-facing role.
  • Experience managing and developing teams of 3+ media professionals.
  • Strong knowledge of brand and performance media KPIs.
  • Experience with ad serving and media research tools including CM360, comScore, Vivvix, and MRI Simmons.
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills.

Education:

Bachelor's degree required; Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.

Work Environment:

This is a remote position requiring regular computer use and collaboration across time zones. Occasional travel is required for client meetings, team events, and industry conferences.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure quality and timeliness of deliverables.
  • Assume responsibility for the growth and vitality of the company's media practice and of your clients' business.
  • Develop and/or approve direction of RFPs that lead publishers in devising innovative approaches to meeting campaign objectives and delivering value.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and finances on all accounts.
  • Work with cross-functional departments to ensure flawless execution.
  • Review final reconciliation of campaign and authorize client refunds if appropriate.

Indirect Reports- May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

8+ years of experience in Media at an agency

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of both awareness and performance digital media channels and strategies, including display, mobile, video, paid search, programmatic and social media
  • Previous success in the planning, development and management of digital media campaigns for brands or products
  • Experience with DoubleClick and other 3rd party tracking solutions preferred
  • Experience with the following technology platforms preferred (Self-Serve Programmatic DSPs, DFA, Facebook UI/FBX)
  • Ability to analyze data and deeply understanding of measurement practices, 3rd party measurement companies and web analytics
  • Demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines while juggling multiple projects simultaneously
  • Proven client service orientation with strong written and verbal communication skills, including effective presentation skills
  • Ability to consistently perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment as an individual on a team
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills
  • Demonstrated interest in keeping up with emerging technologies and digital marketing trends
