Job description

Job Title: Real Estate Compliance Specialist
Location: New York City, NY
Position Type: Contracted – 04 Months (Possible Extension)
Job Type: 100% Remote
Pay Range: $40/-hr on W2

Job Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough research on licensing topics with state real estate commissions and regulatory agencies
  • Analyse brokerage and individual license requirements and ensure compliance with state regulatory guidelines
  • Maintain, monitor, and update data in an internal licensing management system (Airtable) for individual and company license work
  • Pull and administer licensing reports for Business Lines Compliance Teams, Management Teams, and Business stakeholders
  • Coordinate communication with state real estate commissions, designated brokers, and internal stakeholders regarding licensing matters
  • Complete license verification checks with state agencies and escalates exceptions to management
  • Reconcile expenses related to license applications, renewals, and general license maintenance
  • Complete administrative tasks such as ordering licensing documentation from state real estate commissions
  • Submit new license, reciprocal, amendment, renewal, and surrender filings via state real estate commission portals
  • Review and advise licensees on requirements for new and reciprocal licenses, including broker agreement execution
  • Monitor licensee rosters and ensure upcoming renewal and continuing education deadlines are met
  • Facilitate and complete documentation signings with designated brokers and individual licensees during on boarding and renewals
  • Multitask and work independently to deliver high-quality service and results in a dynamic environment
Minimum Requirement:
  • At least 5 years of experience handling real estate brokerage licensing, compliance, or equivalent experience in a regulated industry
  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Ability to understand the regulatory framework and industry practices applicable to real estate brokerage licensing at both the individual and entity level
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with exposure to confidential information and an understanding of the importance of maintaining such confidentiality including legal, financial, and personal information
  • Proven analytical ability and initiative
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in document management and electronic record keeping
  • Ability to effectively handle shifting priorities and adapt to changing demands in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  • Experience with state real estate commission portals, Airtable, and/or DocuSign preferred
  • Proficient within the Microsoft and Google suites.
