PositionDescription 

TheProjectControlsSpecialistI coordinatesand performsprojectcontrolactivities from pre-construction through execution and close-out. 

Essential Functions 

Project Setup & Planning 

  • Set up projects in ERP and project management systems to track and analyze performance data 
  • Develop and implement project control plans, budgets, schedules, and cost breakdown structures (CBS) 

Project Monitoring & Control 

  • Manage project controls and timelines to ensure compliance with cost standards and financial regulations 
  • Monitor performance, quantity estimates, and claims; providing regular progress updates to the project team 
  • Track earned value, costs, and schedules to identify risks and recommend mitigation strategies 
  • Maintain and oversee change management procedures, including review and approval of change orders to budget and revenue 

Reporting & Analytics 

  • Prepare weekly productivity reports and month-end reporting packages, including variance and forecast analysis 
  • Maintain time-phased forecasts and cash flow reports 
  • Update and monitor project dashboards (e.g., Power BI) and respond to ad-hoc data requests 
  • Manage billing schedules and client invoicing processes 

Communication & Support 

  • Participate in project meetings to review timelines, deliverables, and performance 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, vendors, and contractors 
  • Development and implement project controls best practices

Requirements 

  • BS/BA in Business, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or Construction Management (Minimum of 5 years of project controls experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree)
  • 1-3 years of project controls experience

    • Working knowledge of project controls and project management principles 
    • Working Knowledge to Proficiency in computer applications such as scheduling software, financial tools, spreadsheets

      This role is to be based in the Downtown Houston office on a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 remote).
