Job description

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position that is scheduled to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department. This position is primarily remote for individuals living in Wisconsin or Illinois. Onsite work will be driven by work demand and would primarily occur at University Hospital, East Madison hospital and/or at clinic locations. There will be an occasional need to work at 7974 UW Health Court, in Middleton, WI

We are seeking a Provider Services Consultant - Employee Relations Professional to:

  • Focus on supporting physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), residents, and fellows in a specialized employee relations capacity.
  • Provide strategic and tactical consultation on a wide range of complex matters including investigations, counseling, performance management, accommodations and policy adherence.
  • Following investigations, produce detailed, formal investigative reports.
  • Operate in a dynamic, high-pressure environment, requiring exceptional critical thinking, political acumen, and the ability to lead through influence.
  • Collaborate, working across 18 departments-each with unique processes-and engaging with leadership at UW Health, UW School of Medicine and Public Health, and UW-Madison.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Human Resources, or related area Required
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited college or university Preferred

Work Experience

  • 5 years employee relations or other related investigatory experience Required
  • 7 years employee relations or other related investigatory experience in an academic medical center, with significant experience working with physicians Preferred

Licenses & Certifications

  • Association of Workplace Investigators (AWI) certificate Preferred
