| Aspect | Remote Psychology Apprenticeship | Remote Psychology Assistant |
|---|---|---|
| Required Credentials | Typically no formal degree, on-the-job training | Often requires a bachelor's degree or related coursework |
| Work Environment | Mentorship-based, learning-focused, remote or in-person | Supportive clinical or research settings, often remote |

The Remote Psychology Apprenticeship is designed for individuals seeking hands-on training and mentorship in psychology, often without requiring formal credentials. In contrast, a Remote Psychology Assistant typically requires some educational background and supports licensed psychologists or researchers. Both roles are common in remote mental health and research settings, but the apprenticeship emphasizes learning and skill development, while the assistant role focuses on supporting ongoing projects.

We are looking for a Qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to join us in our Derbyshire NHS Talking Therapies Service. This is a remote role. Working hours for this job are Monday to Friday - service hours between 8am and 8pm, with the expectation of at least one late shift per week (12-8). This role is not eligible for sponsorship as it does not meet the requirements as set out by the UK Visa and Immigration Service.
The PWP role is highly valued and seen as an integral part of what we do. Our PWPs provide disorder specific assessments and evidence-based low intensity CBT interventions for people with anxiety disorders and/or depression. We work to the stepped care model to provide the least intrusive and most appropriate level of care to meet the needs of the person. Therefore, our PWPs will offer a wide range of treatments, including telephone and online treatment, CBT programmes, psycho-educational groups, courses, workshops, webinars and one-to-one work. Adapting what we offer to make our treatments more accessible is a critical characteristic of what we do.
Being a PWP within NHS Talking Therapies means joining a provider who really values the PWP role and we have PWP preceptorship and career development opportunities through to senior management and clinical roles.
As you will already know, the PWP role is fast-paced and carries a high-volume caseload. We listen to our PWPs wellbeing needs and provide clinical CPD, self-care sessions and high-quality resources to enable you to support people effectively. The role is varied and constantly evolving with the evidence base and guidance and you can be a part of our evolution if you join us.
