Job description

NOTE: This position is available for remote work within the contiguous United States with a preference for our Houston, TX office.

POSITION SUMMARY: Reporting to the Senior Director, Small Modular Reactor (SMR) Large Scale Deployment, and this role will manage internal and/or external projects related to NuScale's SMR Technology. The Senior Project Manager leads a diverse team and coordinates with various departments to advance the NuScale Small Modular Reactor design, fabrication and deployment. Work will be performed collaboratively with other departments to ensure delivery of project to meet customer requirements and deliver customer value while achieving cost, schedule, quality and other specified targets and objectives. This responsibility ensures that NuScale manufacturing and product delivery achieves defined requirements in a manner consistent with safety and quality objectives and established schedule and budget. The selected individual will work in a matrix environment work closely with the Manufacturing Managers, Procurement Manager, and Project Directors.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Manage overall planning and execution of Supply Chain customer project activities.
  2. Maintain focus on timely delivery of manufactured components that is of appropriate quality and within permitted budgets.
  3. Proactively identify and achieve resolution of manufacturing and supply chain related project issues and anticipated challenges, including escalation of problems within the Product Delivery organization when necessary.
  4. Coordinate with Manufacturing Managers and cost estimators to establish/maintain customer or region-specific product manufacturing cost estimates that includes total cost of delivery.
  5. Present product manufacturing and procurement/delivery status at periodic project review meetings, including earned value metrics, variance analysis, and other project-specific information.
  6. Develop, maintain, and control Supply Chain Large Scale Deployment project-specific policies and procedures.
  7. Ensure assigned projects comply with established policies and procedures including confirming procurement, statements of work, supplier project execution plans, and other appropriate documentation are prepared and maintained.
  8. Facilitate change documentation as necessary.
  9. Maintain and support project-specific manufacturing and project risk assessments and risk mitigation activities.
  10. Coordinate pre-project Supply Chain activities in support of business development initiatives with the Supply Chain organization including transportation, inspections and storage as required.
  11. Manage Supply Chain Project resources in a matrix environment as it relates to the planning, execution, controlling, monitoring, reporting, and closing of product manufacturing projects.
  12. Understanding of construction practices for construction, and experience managing project s in engineering and construction execution phase.
  13. Ability to provide and coordinate oversight of NuScale contractors performing defined scope on behalf of NuScale
  14. Ability to interface within management level of engineering and construction companies providing support to NuScale
  15. Strong aptitude for negotiation and management of contracts, and contract changes in a timely manner.
  16. Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES:

  • Education: A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Project Management, Business or a related discipline. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 15 years' experience in manufacturing, supply chain, project management, or related field dealing with a high degree of complexity and multiple interfaces. Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred: (1) manufacturing of nuclear components, (2) new nuclear project development, or (3) supply chain contract management.
  • Industry Requirements: Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

Pay and Benefits:

The target base salary range for this position is $150,537 - $181,683 annually. The full base salary range is $134,964 - $211,098 annually.
