Job DescriptionOverview

Join our team as a Senior Aviation Project Manager and lead the delivery of complex, high-visibility projects at major hub airports. In this hybrid role, you'll enjoy the flexibility of balancing in-office collaboration with remote work across our Laurel, MD (Baltimore/Calverton) and Alexandria, VA offices, while driving the design and execution of critical aviation infrastructure-including runways, taxiways, aprons, and terminals.

This is a unique opportunity to shape transformational airport programs, influence long-term infrastructure strategy, and lead multidisciplinary teams on large-scale airfield and terminal developments-all within a firm that values innovation, leadership, and professional growth.

Your role

As a senior leader, you will oversee project delivery, financial performance, client relationships, and team development across a diverse aviation portfolio:

  • Lead and manage complex aviation programs involving runway, taxiway, apron, and terminal design and construction at major hub airports
  • Drive contract strategy, including negotiations with clients and subcontractors, and execution of complex professional services agreements
  • Ensure full compliance with contractual commitments, proactively managing risk, subcontractor performance, and dispute resolution
  • Establish and enforce project frameworks, including quality assurance, reporting standards, and communication protocols
  • Own project financial performance-monitoring schedules, budgets, billings, and forecasting to ensure profitability and timely delivery
  • Serve as the primary client interface, building strong relationships with airport authorities, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies
  • Identify and lead business development and capture efforts, including client presentations, proposal strategy, and qualifications development
  • Oversee cross-functional coordination between technical teams, consultants, and external partners to deliver best-in-class solutions
  • Lead, mentor, and develop project managers and technical staff, including workload planning and resource forecasting
  • Represent the firm in executive-level meetings, public forums, and, when required, project hearings or legal proceedings
  • Champion continuous improvement through training, knowledge sharing, and implementation of project management best practices
About you
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Maryland (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
  • 10+ years of experience, including 3+ years in a Project Manager role
  • Strong background delivering aviation infrastructure projects, particularly runways, taxiways, aprons, or terminals
  • Expertise in project financial management, contract administration, and risk mitigation
  • Proven leadership, client engagement, and team development capabilities
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with FAA standards and airport/aviation regulatory agencies preferred
