Job description

Position Summary: 

Be the technical lead for a team in identifying customer requirements, analyzing, and evaluating multiple solutions, developing functional and physical architecture, verifying, and validating high-complexity systems. This position will assign tasks to junior engineers and technicians to achieve the designs. In this position, you will work onthe project from kickoff to customer handover and will be supported by the design, development, and commissioning teams.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Lead and/or self-perform the execution of engineering activities. 
  • Review customer-provided project documentation and define the project's SCADA Design Requirements for the project. 
  • Work alongside project managers to provide technical oversight of the project end-to-end, managing internal and external resources to meet the project milestones and deliverables. 
  • Support the review of engineering services proposals. 
  • Engage with Developers, Owner's Representatives, Utilities, EPCs, Vendors, internal Products, Project, Design, and Commissioning personnel 
  • Contributes to the design of monitoring and control systems for utility scale renewable energy projects. 
  • Work with internal and external design partners: 
  • Architecting and developing detailed design documentation including System Architecture Diagrams, Device Points List, IP lists, Logic Diagrams, HMI mockups. 
  • Generate project documentation at the different stages of the project, including design, development and commissioning-related documentation. 
  • Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to less experienced engineers and team members. 
  • Support the creation and enhancement of our internal knowledge base and documentation. 
  • Support Factory Acceptance Testing of SCADA system and related components. 
  • Support Commissioning and System Acceptance Testing of SCADA system and related components. 

Requirements

  • Requirements: 
    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Computer Science, Technology, or related field 
    • Ability to effectively communicate with team members and business partners 
    • 3+ years of SCADA development, specifically for solar (PV) and Battery (BESS) installations. Ignition experience is a plus 
    • Working knowledge of programming language 
    • Experience with communications architectural design 
    • Working knowledge of industrial protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, DNP3, OPC-UA, IEC 61850, ICCP, etc. 
    • Working knowledge of communications and network design principles 
    • Experience working on multiple projects simultaneously. 
    • Participated in or led continued improvement/lessons learn ed programs 
    • Experience dealing with customers 
    • Travel up to 15% occasionally.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within each posted range, individual pay is determined (and may be greater or higher), dependent on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

The salary range for this position is $110,000- $125,000
