Job description

We are seeking a Cost Analyst to support project cost reporting and progress measurement for engineering and procurement projects. This position is based on our Ferndale, WA office Tuesday-Thursday with the option to work remotely on Monday and Friday. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is looking to develop strong project controls and cost management skills. The Cost Analyst will assist with cost reporting, forecasting, accrual and cash flow tracking. You will work as part of a project team, supporting the Project Managers, to help ensure projects stay on budget and the program meets the KPIs.

Compensation: $60,000 – 80,000 *anticipated annual salary may vary based on skills, experience, qualifications and internal peer equity. The pay range listed for this position is based on the anticipated base compensation at the time of the posting.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid, in local Ferndale office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with the option to work remotely on Monday and Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and monitor project management reports pertaining to budget, productivity, manpower, schedule and man-hours on all projects. This includes tracking contracts and change orders during engineering, procurement and construction.
  • Assists Project Managers in preparation of monthly project control reports, as well as monitors and reviews operational reports prepared by the project concerning cost, schedule, progress, budget, forecast, manpower, and quantities. Reports significant trends or variances to Project Managers.
  • Participates in meetings, drafts reports or reviews work of others as related to project cost and progress measurement and performance.
  • Provides periodic summary reports, graphs, progress and manpower projections.
  • Prepares comparisons and evaluations associated with project estimates, forecasts, cost trends and schedules pertaining to budgets, productivity, and manpower loadings.
  • Prepares monthly forecasts, reviews with Project Managers and enters into project management ERP.
  • Drafts bimonthly project review presentations for leadership meetings.
  • Requires general review by more senior staff on many aspects of work.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: 2+ years as cost analyst
  • Technical Competence:
    • Must have strong skills in Excel based cost reporting or other cost management software and Microsoft Suite.
    • Must be able to process and comprehend project breakdown structures, cost and schedule impacts, client impacts, and to make recommendations about project cash flow, performance and forecasting to project stakeholders understand health and risks of the project.
    • Collaboration: Ability to form and foster collaborative relationships within Eichleay and with clients and partners.
  • Industry Requirements: This role will require all or some of the following requirements at time of hire or during employment
    • HHFT Safety Training and current card or ability to obtain.
    • Client Safety Training and current badge or ability to obtain.
    • TWIC Certification and current card or ability to obtain. TWIC card must be obtained prior to start date or start date may need to be adjusted.
    • Background screening including previous employment, education, criminal history, and driving record verification.
    • Participation in random drug and alcohol programs.
