POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr. Project Scheduler leads schedule development, review, and maintenance for owner’s representative engagements on utility-scale wind, solar, and battery-energy-storage (BESS) projects, as a senior member of EPP’s Project Controls Solutions (PCS) team. On behalf of the owner, the Sr. Project Scheduler develops and executes scheduling strategies that optimize cost, quality, schedule, and risk, and ensures schedule accuracy for owner project managers from development through execution.

This is a client-facing, billable delivery role. Reporting to the Director – Resource Solutions, the Sr. Project Scheduler serves as the primary scheduling expert and resource for project managers, sets scheduling standards and processes, analyzes EPC and contractor schedules, and champions disciplined scheduling practice throughout the project lifecycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Schedule Development & Maintenance

  • Develop and maintain detailed Integrated Master Schedules (IMS) and priority project schedules from development through execution in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
  • Prepare and transition schedules as projects move across stages of completion.
  • Monitor project progress and update schedules to reflect approved changes in scope, timeline, and resources, coordinating across departments to gather the necessary information.

Schedule Analysis, Risk & Performance

  • Analyze and evaluate current schedules against established baselines; identify critical path, scheduling conflicts, trends, variances, and risks, and recommend resolutions through variance reports and what-if scenarios.
  • Analyze contractor and EPC schedules and provide critical, defensible analysis and feedback to the owner’s project team.
  • Conduct schedule risk analysis and develop mitigation strategies; develop and manage schedule performance indicators and earned-value / progress measurement (rules of credit).

Reporting & Schedule Integrity

  • Ensure accuracy and consistency of schedule information shared across the owner’s organization and EPP.
  • Prepare and present schedule reports and updates to project stakeholders and senior management using dashboards and standardized reports.
  • Maintain schedule documentation, activity coding, and WBS integrity.

Standards, Guidance & Coordination

  • Serve as the primary scheduling expert and resource for project managers — train, assist, and guide PMs in the scheduling process.
  • Help set scheduling standards and develop project controls plans, procedures, standards, and guidelines; ensure compliance with EPP project controls policies (planning and scheduling, earned value, rules of credit).
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, development, project management, finance, legal, and operations, and champion scheduling across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of progressive scheduling and project controls experience in the energy, construction, or engineering industry.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project; working knowledge of Procore and Microsoft 365.
  • Ability to analyze contractor schedules and provide critical, defensible analysis and feedback to the project team.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and within a multi-disciplinary team and to engage executives and external partners.
  • Must have authorization to work permanently in the United States.

Preferred

  • 3+ years in renewable-energy scheduling, with direct experience across wind, solar, and BESS.
  • Experience with schedule risk analysis and mitigation, earned value, and schedule performance indicators.
  • PMP, PMI-SP, or AACE (PSP/EVP) certification; experience with Smartsheet, BI tools, and Deltek Vantagepoint.

WORK LOCATION & TRAVEL

Remote - less than 25% travel. Salaried, exempt.
