Overview
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is an employee-owned federal government contractor supporting national priority programs through our strategic solutions in the areas of Information Technology, Test & Evaluation, Program Mission Support, Engineering & Analysis, and Training.
Responsibilities
As a Scheduler with AMERICAN SYSTEMS you will have the opportunity to do the following:
  • Develop, maintain, and manage complex Microsoft Project schedules for technical programs.
  • Build and maintain integrated master schedules and supporting detailed schedules aligned with program scope, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.
  • Ensure schedules are structured to support progress tracking, forecasting, critical path analysis, and earned value management assessments.
  • Coordinate with program managers, technical leads, functional managers, and control account managers to define activities, durations, logic, constraints, milestones, and resource assumptions.
  • Status schedules on a recurring basis using input from responsible leads and team members.
  • Analyze schedule performance, identify variances, assess impacts, and support development of corrective actions and recovery plans.
  • Perform schedule quality checks to ensure compliance with scheduling best practices, contract requirements, and organizational standards.
  • Maintain schedule baselines and document changes through formal change control processes.
  • Support monthly or periodic performance reporting, including schedule metrics, milestone status, critical path analysis, and forecast completion dates.
  • Prepare schedule products and data for program reviews, customer briefings, and internal management reporting.
  • Support earned value management activities by ensuring schedule data is properly aligned with work scope, status methods, and performance measurement needs.
  • Coordinate schedule integration across projects, task orders, subcontractors, and functional workstreams, as applicable.
  • Identify and communicate schedule risks, logic issues, resource conflicts, and data anomalies.
  • Support audits, assessments, and data calls related to schedule performance and schedule quality

THIS HYBRID POSITION REQUIRES 3 DAYS OF WORK IN THE OFFICE AND 2 DAYS REMOTE PER WEEK
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and two (2) to four (4) years of experience; a combination of education and experience can be used in lieu of degree
  • Secret Clearance
  • Experience scheduling facilities and services for multiple agencies
  • Minimum five (5) years' experience working with Microsoft Office software and Internet usage
  • Ability to coordinate several events simultaneously and the ability to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently at times and make appropriate decisions under time constraints
  • Skills in communication, public speaking, providing constructive feedback and handling complaints

Pay Transparency Statement
AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $82,100.00/Yr. - USD $137,000.00/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
