SUMMARYThe Project Specialist is an important contributor to the execution of key programs improving operational and financial performance, optimizing employee experience, or addressing other business objectives. Primary responsibilities include completing financial analyses and projection models related to operational improvements. This role provides support on behalf of the Sr. Director, Project Development & Execution – partnering with field teams, IT, QI, etc. to identify and achieve measures of success.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential function listed below:

  • Gathering, analyzing, and interpreting financial and/or operational data to quantify challenges and overall project impact
  • Acting as a liaison between field teams, functional business leaders, and corporate partners (e.g., IT, QI) – in some cases directly identifying, documenting, and communicating business process requirements
  • Supporting design and execution of alternative business process workflows, recommending improvements and enhancements where possible
  • Documenting and maintaining project plans or status reports and/or coordinating completion from work stream owners as needed
  • Identifying and escalating project risks to program leadership
  • Summarizing project findings, decision criteria, considerations, etc. to aid in group alignment and project completion
  • Owning / leading workstream(s) within a project with oversight from team leader
  • Building strong relationships with field, functional, and corporate teams at all levels of the organization

Minimum Knowledge and Skills required by the Job

Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • 3-5 years of experience; management consulting, finance, and/or healthcare / human services preferred

 

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

  • N/A

Other Skills and Abilities:

  • Skilled in using desktop applications with proficiency in project management software, Excel, PowerPoint, and Smartsheet
  • Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Comfort collaborating with cross-functional teams, including Operations, IT, HR, Quality, etc.
  • Excellent communicator in written and verbal form to various audiences, including leadership
  • Strong connection to the Company’s mission and our commitment to the people we serve and the services we provide
  • Confidence working in a remote environment with evolving priorities

Other Requirements:

  • Travel as needed; 25% estimated but not guaranteed

Physical Requirements:

  • Sedentary work.  Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.  Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time.  Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
