Job Description EFFECTIVE LEADERSHIP ACADEMYVirtual/
Remote Program Facilitator, Part-time
Become a member of an excellent team as a virtual facilitator for Effective Leadership Academy (ELA). ELA
programs are geared toward middle and high school students with a rigorous curriculum for 21st Century
Skills and address the critical issues that relate to social and emotional learning. These programs motivate
and inspire students and give them the confidence to make positive choices in their lives for success in school
and beyond. An ELA Virtual/Remote Program Facilitator, part-time can expect the following:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, JOB DUTIES & WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Assist facilitation or lead facilitation in delivery of online ELA programs during the school year, delivered
through Zoom
• Monitor chat feature in Zoom during programs to assist and respond to students
• Employ ELA divergent learning pedagogy, serving as "guide on the side," to enable students to construct
meaning from their experiences.
• Communicate with students and teachers to work to build rapport with students while "building
community"
• Observe classroom behavior during program facilitation and determine then execute classroom
management needs
• Assist with administrative tasks related to programming, including recording of attendance
• Remotely attend ELA facilitator trainings and occasional ELA meetings
• Other duties as assigned
• Part-Time, Virtual Remote Facilitators must be able to:
o Self-provide a secure, private, and stable internet connection
o Be able to work in a private, reduced-noise environment free from distractions and
interruptions
o Be able effectively operate Zoom meetings
o Be able to perform ELA programming function via Zoom
o Sit/remain in a stationary position for at least 60 minutes
HOURS OF WORK:
The virtual/remote facilitator role is part-time with a schedule of up to 25 hours per week. Hours are not
guaranteed and are not the same each week but are scheduled in advance, based on the programs that ELA
facilitates within schools, and based on the availability of the co-facilitator.
The ideal candidate will have at least 3-5 days of set availability during school hours, 8am - 4pm.
As ELA schedules programs, we will assign facilitators, based on their availability, to assist with or lead in
program facilitation. This will be communicated via email and on an online calendar.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor's degree in education or associate field
• Experience working with diverse populations of students, middle and high school experience preferred
• Committed passion to making a difference in the lives of youth
• Strong time management skills and ability to handle a variable schedule
• Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
• High energy and positive mental attitude
• Access to stable, private, and reliable Wi-Fi with a desktop computer or laptop
• Maintains confidentiality of all student information
• Adheres to the ELA curriculum with fidelity, as well as all copyright and trademark issues
