Job description

Summary
This position is with the U. S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) within the Directorate of Cooperative and State Programs (DCSP), located in Washington, D.C.
  • This position is at the full performance level.
  • This position is inside the bargaining unit.
  • This position is NOT remote. Selectee will be expected to report to the office listed above.

Help
Duties for the Program Analyst position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Using qualitative and quantitative analysis methods to analyze program-related data and to identify and analyze program or policy issues.
  • Providing operational, technical, and administrative support to critical projects, programs, and policies within the organization.
  • Providing analytical techniques for evaluating the accomplishment of program objectives.
  • Assisting with drafting, reviewing, editing, and providing input to written materials including program guidance, and informational and decision memoranda.
  • Designing statistically valid surveys, questionnaires, and data analysis techniques to evaluate programs.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience is the experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSA's) to perform the duties of the position successfully, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, GS-12, in the Federal Service.
Qualifying specialized experience for the GS-13 includes:
  • Assisting with technical support and/or written communications directly relating to OSHA's state plans and/or OSHA's Office of State Programs.
  • Using OSHA Information System (OIS) and/or the State Plan Application (SPA) to analyze data directly relating to OSHA State Plans and their performance.
  • Providing written responses to questions regarding policies, operations or administration of State Plans.

Any applicant falsely claiming an academic degree from an accredited school will be subject to actions ranging from disqualification from federal employment to removal from federal service.
