Business Development Manager - HVAC Distribution - Base Salary to 90k/year - Chicago, IL

  • Our client is a growing eCommerce and distribution company specializing in replacement parts and components for heating systems, serving contractors, distributors, and end users across North America. The organization has built a strong reputation for solving supply chain challenges and is expanding its product lines and go-to-market channels.
  • They are seeking a Business Development Manager to build and expand a new HVAC wholesale distribution channel. This individual will focus on developing relationships with HVAC supply houses, onboarding distribution partners, and driving product placement within the channel. This is a highly entrepreneurial role with direct visibility to leadership and the opportunity to build a channel from the ground up.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, prospect, and develop relationships with HVAC distributors, supply houses, and wholesale partners
  • Build and execute a go-to-market strategy for expanding product placement within the HVAC distribution channel
  • Secure new distribution agreements and onboard partners across targeted regions
  • Educate distributors and partners on product offerings, applications, and ordering processes
  • Collaborate with leadership on pricing strategy, vendor onboarding, and channel positioning
  • Engage and manage relationships with independent manufacturer representative agencies
  • Track pipeline activity, partner performance, and revenue growth metrics
  • Gather market feedback to support product development and positioning
  • Support onboarding and early-stage account management of new partners

Qualifications:

  • Direct experience working within or selling into HVAC wholesale distribution or supply house environments
  • Understanding of how products are approved, stocked, and sold within distribution channels
  • Demonstrated success in business development, channel development, or expanding product placement
  • Experience working with manufacturer representatives, rep agencies, or distribution partners
  • Ability to work independently and manage a remote, multi-state territory

Compensation:
