Job Title: Product Manager II, Custom Embedded Solutions
Location(s): Irvine, CA - Onsite
Compensation: $90,000 - $110,000
About this position:
Advantech is in search for a technically minded Product Manager to own customer relationships and drive custom embedded design
projects across the Robotics, Healthcare and Defense markets. In this role, you’ll serve as the interface between customers and Advantech’s engineering and product teams. 
This is a high-ownership role for someone who thrives in technology and customer engagement. You’ll translate real-world application requirements into tailored embedded computing solutions, with a strong emphasis on computer-on-module and carrier board architectures. You’ll be involved across the full product lifecycle from initial requirement gathering, architecture recommendation, design in and delivery. 
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary customer-facing point of contact for custom embedded design projects in various markets (For example: Robotics, Healthcare, and Defense). 
  • Engage directly with customers to understand application requirements and recommend tailored embedded computing solutions, with emphasis on computer-on-module and carrier board architectures. 
  • Manage the full custom project lifecycle, including requirements definition, proposal and quotation development, milestone tracking, and delivery coordination. 
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate embedded form factors and product configurations to address diverse customer application needs. 
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including application engineering, supply chain, and manufacturing, marketing and sales to drive successful and on-time project outcomes. 
  • Develop customer-facing collateral including product briefs and RFQ responses 
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within target verticals to grow Advantech’s custom design win pipeline. 
Required Qualifications:
  • 3–5 years of experience in product management, project management, or a customer-facing technical role within the embedded computing or electronics industry. 
  • Working knowledge of embedded computing architectures, including computer-on-module (COM) and carrier board designs. 
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively. 
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects with strong organizational and prioritization skills. 
  • Self-motivated with a proactive, customer-first mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 
  • Ability to travel to attend occasional trade shows and customer visits (15%) 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with embedded form factor standards such as COM Express, SMARC, OSM, or similar. 
  • Experience working with customers or applications in the Robotics, Healthcare, or Defense industries. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
