Job description

Position Summary
The Product Compliance Analyst supports certification, approvals, regulatory and market research and intelligence, and administration of compliance documentation for unmanned aerial systems, unmanned surface vessels, and other unmanned vehicles. The Compliance Analyst serves as the department's regulatory analyst and application drafter analogous to a paralegal in a legal practice. Major tasks for this role consist of researching, preparing, and assembling the license applications, conformity declarations, and regulatory filings with assistance and for review & approval by the Sr. Director and other leadership within the department.
This role maintains compliance requirements and matrixes, monitors changing industry standards, and assists with research and market entry across multiple domains (spectrum, aviation, maritime, environmental) without needing to be a subject-matter expert in each. You are the person who ensures nothing falls through the cracks between market identification to certification package.
This role is remote, with occasional travel (<25%) to company subsidiary locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Draft FCC license application packages including cover letters, technical narratives, test report summaries, and supporting exhibits for the Sr. Director's review and approval.
  • Prepare and manage CE marking technical files and packages including Declarations of Conformity for the Radio Equipment Directive, EMC Directive, Low Voltage Directive, and Marine Equipment Directives.
  • Prepare international market filing packages for ISED, MIC, KCC, ACMA, UKCA, and others while coordinating with in-country filing agents on format and language requirements.
  • Own and maintain product compliance matrixes for each target market.
  • Conduct research and provide international regulatory exploration assistance informing market entry strategies and provide updates on changing regulatory environments.
  • Track critical regulatory changes: FCC Covered List updates, FAA BVLOS, NPRM, etc.
  • Own and maintain the compliance document repository: Declarations of Conformity, test reports, certificates, agency correspondence, classification society records, and audit reports.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • 2-5 years of experience in regulatory affairs, compliance analysis, technical writing, or a paralegal-type role within a hardware, aerospace, maritime, or technology company.
  • Strong analytical and research skills-ability to read dense regulatory text (CFR, EU Official Journal, classification society rules) and extract structured, actionable requirements.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (Jira, Asana, or similar) and document management systems.
  • Research aptitude: ability to read regulatory documents and extract actionable requirements or impactful changes.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and document quality-you produce filing packages and compliance matrices that are accurate, complete, and audit-ready
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including SharePoint, Forms, Power Automate, and other Office products.

Additional Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in a product compliance, certification, laboratory, or regulatory affairs department within a consumer electronics or aerospace company.
  • Familiarity with FCC, CE marking, or other product certification frameworks (technical knowledge not required).
  • Experience drafting or supporting FCC equipment authorization filings, CE marking technical files, or classification society submissions.
  • Paralegal certification, regulatory affairs certification, or equivalent professional credential.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Ability to move freely within the facility and traverse various work areas as needed to perform testing functions.
  • Stamina to withstand long periods of standing, walking, and potentially climbing stairs or ladders to access observation areas.
  • Proficient hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle equipment and documents related to compliance test engineering.
  • Visual acuity to observe and perform flight operations, monitor precise instrumentation, and interpret graphed data.
  • Ability to hear and accurately interpret communication during team meetings.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to convey instructions, provide. feedback, and collaborate with team members and other departments.
  • Vigilance and adherence to safety protocols to ensure the well-being of personnel and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds, such as equipment, tools, or materials, as necessary for flight operations support.
