Job Purpose:

The Product Compliance Specialist independently manages standard insurance product filings and compliance activities while supporting more complex initiatives led by senior staff. This role applies regulatory knowledge and sound judgment within established filing strategies to ensure accurate, compliant submissions. The Specialist exercises discretion in responding to routine regulatory matters while escalating novel, precedent-setting, or high-risk issues to senior compliance leadership.

Job Responsibilities:

Regulatory Compliance โ€“ 25%

โ€ข Independently prepare, submit, and manage standard regulatory filings.

โ€ข Maintain approval records, reference libraries, and auditable compliance documentation.

โ€ข Monitor regulatory changes and assess impact to existing products and filing strategies.

โ€ข Respond to regulatory and internal inquiries with increasing independence.

Product Development & Filings - 40%

โ€ข Support development and revision of insurance products to ensure regulatory compliance.

โ€ข Manage countrywide filings for rates, rules, and policy forms under established strategies.

โ€ข Assist in developing state-specific filing strategies and managing related timelines.

โ€ข Prepare and review filing exhibits, including premium and loss data.

โ€ข Coordinate with underwriting, IT, actuarial, and operations to resolve filing issues.

Compliance Support & Risk Awareness - 20%

โ€ข Identify regulatory and operational risks and recommend mitigation strategies.

โ€ข Participate in compliance reporting, internal audits, and process improvement initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration - 15%

โ€ข Serve as compliance contact for product-related implementation efforts.

โ€ข Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support filing readiness and system configuration.

Required:

โ€ข Associate or bachelorโ€™s degree in business, legal studies, or related field; or equivalent experience

โ€ข Minimum four years of insurance compliance or product filing experience

โ€ข Working knowledge of SERFF and insurance product filing processes

Preferred:

โ€ข Experience with state-specific rate and form filing requirements
