Job description

Sr. Milk Accounting Specialist US Remote | Full-Time | Exempt

About the Role

If you know milk accounting - the payrolls, the pooling, the billing, the balancing - and you're ready to do it at scale across a diverse client portfolio, this role is for you. As a Sr. Milk Accounting Specialist at Ever.Ag, you'll own the full Producer Payroll, Plant Billing, Milk Purchase, and Pooling processes for multiple clients, serving as their primary point of contact and a key resource across the organization.

This isn't a role where you do the same thing every day. You'll be working across 20+ clients, navigating Federal Order regulations, troubleshooting complex payroll issues, and collaborating with producers, labs, field reps, and internal teams to keep everything running accurately and on time. You'll also serve on our Tier II Payroll Support Team, contributing your expertise to the broader organization.

What You'll Do

  • Execute producer payrolls (on-prem and SaaS) accurately and on schedule for multiple clients
  • Manage milk/component weights, data entry, and resolution within our operating systems
  • Validate payments against Federal Order regulations - formulas, pricing, labs, and weights - and maintain audit-ready records
  • Complete balancing and plant billing activities
  • Serve as the lead communicator with all parties in the payroll process: producers, assignees, labs, field reps, and managers
  • Work with Federal Order Marketing Administrators on behalf of clients
  • Identify issues and areas for improvement, research solutions, and document findings
  • Develop SOPs, training materials, and process documentation
  • Contribute as a Tier II payroll support resource across all company clients
  • Partner with cross-functional teams - tech, customer service, account management - for problem-solving and troubleshooting
  • Participate in KPI reporting and client relationship development

What You Bring

  • 8+ years of experience in Federal Order milk pooling and payment processes, milk payroll systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Advanced Excel skills; alphanumeric ten-key of 10K KPH or higher strongly preferred
  • Strong analytical mindset - you can spot patterns in data, trace transactions, and draw sound conclusions
  • Excellent communication skills; able to translate complex numerical data for clients, regulators, and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing deadlines, and adapt when priorities shift
  • Availability for on-call support as needed (evenings, weekends, holidays)

Why You'll Love It Here

  • Remote work - work from anywhere in the U.S.
  • Variety - no two days look the same; you'll work across clients, processes, and problem types
  • Growth - we're a growing team with several long-tenured members approaching retirement. That means real, near-term opportunities to step into leadership and expanded ownership for the right person
  • Team culture - collaborative, drama-free, and genuinely supportive. We pitch in for each other and we want someone who's excited to be part of that
  • Impact - your work directly affects producers and clients across the milk supply chain. It matters
