OHVA seeks passionate educators to join a team dedicated to an exemplary individualized and engaging educational experience with a data-driven, student-centered instructional model. Typical schedule is 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school, with the ability to work independently. Responsibilities Instructional Take ownership for student academic progress and attendance, communicate high expectations, and support student achievement. Prepare students for high-stakes standardized tests.

Conduct live Synchronous Teaching โ€“ minimum of 15 hours per week. Asynchronously support objectives (emails, planning, learning plans, data-driven adjustments). Collaborate with others on instruction, resources, interventions, and data related to OHVA students' needs and teacher development.

Augment course content under guidance of the administrative team using asynchronous and synchronous tools. Submit grades and required student work with integrity; maintain grade book. Make placement and promotion decisions by generating reports and notifying administrators of concerns.

Relationship Building Establish and maintain positive rapport with families; regularly communicate with students and learning coaches/parents. Support learning coaches/parents with curricular and instructional issues in a virtual environment. Assist with basic computer questions as needed; understand diverse family needs to tailor support.

Collaborate with teachers to ensure student progress and clear points of contact for parents. Respond to students, parents, and colleagues in a timely manner. Other Essential Functions Organize social and educational activities for students and families (virtual clubs, events).

Proctor state exams at testing sites as needed. Comply with school policies and procedures, including Employee Manual and applicable laws. Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree Six (6) months of student teaching experience Meet requirements for Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) in subject area under No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Other Required Qualifications Pedagogical knowledge of content and ability to apply critical thinking Knowledge of state content standards Ability to adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes Independent problem-solving, high organizational ability Ability to manage deadlines across multiple projects 40+ hours per week; professional home office setup Ability to travel ~10% for professional development or testing as required Reliable high-speed internet Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and platforms Maintain teacher certification and participate in professional development Ability to pass required background check Desired Qualifications Experience with the proposed age group Experience supporting adults and children in technology use Experience in virtual environments Experience teaching online and/or in brick-and-mortar settings Experience with Blackboard Collaborate or similar platforms Work Environment Home office environment with typical moderate noise; occasional variations at meeting locations (statewide).
