  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited institution
  • Professional Engineering License is required.
  • 7-10 years of professional experience in electrical design engineering, with a strong background in Gray's core markets.
  • Proven expertise in electrical systems design, including lighting, power distribution, grounding, lightning protection, telecommunications, and security systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, IBC, and client-specific requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Bluebeam, Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM coordination workflows, with experience leading model integration and clash detection.
  • Advanced proficiency with electrical design tools (e.g., SKM Power Tools, ETAP, or similar).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced Excel skills for system analysis, cost modeling, and performance optimization.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to lead client discussions, present technical concepts, and coordinate across disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project deliverables, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to strategic planning and quality assurance.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

Qualifications
Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement electrical systems for data centers, including medium and low-voltage power distribution, backup power systems, and emergency systems
  • Develop and maintain electrical schematics, bills of materials, and installation drawings
  • Approves and signs off on work, acting as Engineer of Record
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations, including National Electric Code (NEC) and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) standards
  • Understanding of telecom and fire alarm design, including prescriptive, performance-based, and full detailed design approaches
  • Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to develop specifications, design criteria, and project budgets
  • Stay up-to-date with advancements in electrical engineering and data center technologies, and recommend new technologies to improve the reliability and efficiency of our data center infrastructure
  • Is accountable for project success in the electrical discipline.
  • Travel to project sites for engineering surveys, data collection for system studies, audits, and client collaboration

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering plus ten (10) years of relevant experience in electrical design and/or electrical engineering, with a focus on data center infrastructure, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Extensive experience in electrical engineering for data centers or other critical facilities.
  • Utilize design and modelling software (AutoCAD, Revit, Elum Tools, BIM360, SKM, ETAP, EDSA, Easy Power)
  • Perform system studies including arc flash, load, short circuit, and coordination analyses
  • Understanding of telecom and fire alarm design, including prescriptive, performance-based, and full detailed design approaches
  • Strong knowledge of NEC (NFPA70)
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients
  • Ability to think creatively and identify opportunities to enhance the client experience.
  • Experience working with Revit.

  • Experience with data center design and construction, including design criteria and industry standards
