How You'll Contribute to Our Success
As the Technical Services Manager (Poultry), you will play a crucial role in driving Phileo's market development and sales activities in North America. Your efforts will be closely aligned with the strategic commercial initiatives and strategies defined by Phileo's North America commercial leadership team, as well as the global strategic initiatives set by the Phileo Global Technical and Marketing leaders.
You will oversee commercial poultry research and demonstration trials, assisting with Global R&D poultry trials in North America as approved by regional and global leaders. Additionally, you will provide ongoing, in-person technical sales support in a team selling format, frequently coordinating and developing sales opportunities. Your deep understanding of the North American poultry marketplace and expertise in the application of Phileo's commercial products will be essential to your success in this role. Approximately 55% of your time will be dedicated to direct and remote sales support activities, with the remaining time split between internal business activities and research project support. You will develop a collaborative, demonstrative research approach that aligns with the priorities of the North America Phileo commercial leadership team and the Global Phileo Technical Leaders. This research will have a 12 to 36-month horizon, with a strong focus on providing supporting research results for prioritized Phileo commercial products and applications. You will also be encouraged to develop new, value-added technical service tools that support increased sales volume.
What You'll Do as a Technical Services Manager Poultry
  • Demonstrates an unwavering commitment to Lesaffre's safety-first culture by strictly following all safety protocols and participating in required safety programs
  • Strategic development of Phileo and Lesaffre regional and global resources to help grow sales volume and market share in the North America poultry marketplace
  • Demonstrate an entrepreneurial approach to business activities that increases utilization of Phileo's and Lesaffre's expertise
  • Develop a close, collaborative working relationship with Phileo's Global Technical Poultry Leader and the Phileo North America Monogastric Sales Manager
  • Maintain an ongoing market intelligence about the North American poultry marketplace to help identify new sales opportunities and commercial product applications
  • Utilize the Global Phileo Project Request process to collaboratively make new products or new application recommendations to the Global Phileo Leadership team
  • Maintain timely, regular professional communication of work-related activities to assigned regional and global supervisors. Maintain timely, regular and professional communication with the Phileo North American regional sales managers as needed and requested
  • Maintain timely, regular communication as needed and requested with Phileo customers, including the relevant Phileo regional sales manager in these communications
  • Write and assist with editing and preparation of technical marketing materials for internal sales meetings, customer events or meetings and industry events
  • Utilize Salesforce for customer engagement documentation

Required qualifications:
  • Advanced degree (DVM, MS or PhD) preferably in Animal Science with an emphasis on poultry nutrition from an accredited university is required
  • 5 or more years of experience in poultry nutrition and feed manufacturing is required
  • Strong professional and technical interest in poultry feeding and poultry production/nutrition knowledge is required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and proficiency in commercial poultry nutrition, production methods, and value-added product application
  • Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
  • Ability to travel 60% of the time within North America for meetings and trade shows
