Job description

As a Poultry Farm Technician, you will play a vital role in the daily care and management of flocks, supporting both animal welfare and farm productivity. Responsibilities
  • Collect, wash, and incubate eggs until hatching.
  • Feed and care for poultry flocks, ensuring their health and well-being.
  • Select animals for breeding as directed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper upkeep of poultry houses.
  • Promptly alert appropriate personnel in case of issues such as sick animals, feed problems, or equipment failures.
  • Collect and enter data using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Tag and vaccinate birds according to veterinarian protocols.
  • Assist the Pedigree Farm Manager with external research trials, including weighing and CT scanning.
  • Respond to farm emergencies as needed.
  • Follow all biosecurity measures and Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to standards, procedures, and regulations.
  • Report any animal welfare concerns to management immediately.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Experience working in a poultry or agricultural environment is a plus.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Certified Poultry Technician (CPT) License preferred.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed.
  • Ability to use hands for simple and firm grasping.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds alone and up to 80 pounds with assistance.
  • Comfortable working in environments with odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, ammonia, and occasional loud noise
Physical Demands

Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time. · Must be able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed. · Must be able use hands for simple/firm grasping. · Must be able to move 50 pounds alone and 80 pounds with assistance. · Potential exposure to odors, fumes, airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, and ammonia. · Noise level may be loud at times.

Shift: M-F 6a-2:30p 4+ hour shift rotating weekends (varies per farm demand)
