You will be responsible for providing essential behavioral health services, performing assessments, conducting counseling sessions, and managing cases to foster holistic wellness. This role offers a unique remote work setting, allowing you to engage with clients and colleagues from the comfort of your home while promoting a balanced work-life integration. As a full-time counselor, you will connect with a network of professionals who are passionate about integrated care, including medical providers, midwives, and doulas, facilitating a collaborative approach to mental health and well-being.

• Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments to identify the mental health and support needs of Black birthing families.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions focused on mental health support during pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum periods.
• Deliver case management services that connect clients with community resources and referral networks, ensuring comprehensive care.
• Consult regularly with members of the prenatal care team, including physicians and lactation consultants, to coordinate integrated services for clients.
• Co-facilitate childbirth education and postpartum peer support groups in conjunction with birth workers to enhance community support.
• Engage in community outreach activities to promote mental health awareness and foster a nurturing environment for birthing individuals.
• Stay actively involved in clinical consultations and multidisciplinary collaboration, contributing to a culture of continuous learning.
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation of clinical assessments, treatment plans, and session notes adhering to compliance standards.

Your primary focus will be on supporting Black birthing families, who often face unique challenges in accessing mental health resources and care. The role emphasizes cultural sensitivity and responsiveness, ensuring that each individual and family receives tailored support that honors their heritage and experiences.

• A master’s degree in a behavioral science or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Current licensure as an LMFT, LCSW, or LPCC in California.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with diverse and interdisciplinary teams, maintaining a professional demeanor in all interactions.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a commitment to fostering trust and rapport with clients and colleagues.
• A willingness to seek assistance and support when necessary, demonstrating a strong sense of teamwork.

Experience working with the perinatal population, particularly within communities of color, is highly desirable. Familiarity with trauma-informed care practices and culturally competent counseling techniques will enhance your effectiveness in this role. Additionally, candidates who have contributed to community engagement initiatives or educational programming related to maternal health will be viewed favorably.

• Annual salary range of USD 120,000 – 130,000, commensurate with experience.
