Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) – Behavioral Health (Remote, Outpatient)

Baylor Scott & White Health
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Setting: 100% Remote | Outpatient Only

About the Role

Baylor Scott & White Health is expanding our virtual behavioral health services and is seeking our first Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to help shape and deliver high-quality psychiatric care within an innovative, digitally enabled care model.

This is a foundational opportunity for a PMHNP who is passionate about virtual care, clinical innovation, and collaborative, team-based practice. In addition to providing direct patient care, this clinician will play a key role in establishing best practices for virtual visits, digital interventions, and PMHNP integration within our Mental Health Product care model.

You will collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, care navigators, and clinical leadership—and serve as a clinical voice in the development of digital tools that support patient outcomes.

Key ResponsibilitiesClinical Care & Practice Development
  • Deliver psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and follow-up care via virtual visits.

  • Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, care navigators, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care.

  • Help establish clinical workflows and best practices for PMHNPs within a hybrid care model incorporating digital interventions and measurement-based care.

  • Participate in case reviews, clinical rounds, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Support the development and refinement of protocols for digital tools such as mood tracking, sleep tracking, journaling, interactive worksheets, and medication adherence.

Innovation & Team Leadership
  • Provide clinical input on digital product development, ensuring tools align with clinical needs and enhance care delivery.

  • Serve as a clinical leader in shaping how PMHNPs contribute to the evolving Mental Health Product care model.

  • Mentor future PMHNP hires and contribute to onboarding and workforce development strategies.

  • Collaborate with the Medical Director and Clinical Director to refine value-based care models and outcome metrics.

  • Act as a team lead and collaborative partner across clinical and product teams.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited PMHNP program.

  • Active Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification and state licensure (or eligibility).

  • 3+ years of experience in mental health care strongly preferred, ideally in outpatient psychiatry, telehealth, or integrated care settings.

  • Comfort with technology-enabled care, including EMRs, digital health applications, and remote monitoring tools.

  • Strong communication skills, clinical judgment, and a collaborative mindset.

  • Interest in clinical innovation, protocol development, and scaling virtual care models.

Why Baylor Scott & White Health
  • Join a nationally recognized, mission-driven healthcare system.

  • Opportunity to help define a first-of-its-kind PMHNP role within a growing virtual mental health program.

  • Influence how digital tools and psychiatric care integrate at scale.

  • Predictable weekday schedule with no evenings, weekends, or inpatient responsibilities.
