Though we have an office based in Calgary, Canada this is a remote position that is open to candidates across the USA. PurposeMed's office is located on the unceded and traditional territories of the peoples of the Treaty 7 region which includes the nations of the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Îethka Stoney Nakoda which consists of the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Good Stoney Bands, and people of the Tsuut'ina First Nation. Who we hope to find:
Come and join the #1 rated PrEP provider in North America, Freddie! We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Nurse Practitioner licensed in 10+ states to provide high-quality, virtual sexual health care to our patients across the U.S.
At Freddie, our patients are our #1 priority-we're passionate about delivering an exceptional, 11/10 star experience. Our team provides empathetic, stigma-free, and client-centered care for those seeking preventative care through PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) and DoxyPEP, as well as treatment for those living with HIV. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to reducing health disparities within diverse populations, including those in the LGBTQ2IA+ community.
In this role, you'll make an impact by:
Providing Compassionate, High-Quality Synchronous Care (~15 hours a week)
  • Delivering inclusive, expert, virtual care through scheduled synchronous consultations through our virtual care platform
  • Leading comprehensive initial assessments for those seeking preventative or HIV care, including but not limited to: history taking, risk assessment, and psychosocial evaluations
  • Providing comprehensive sexually transmitted and blood borne infection (STBBI) prevention education to clients (with a focus on HIV prevention), including risk reduction strategies and behavioural counseling
  • Championing health education and empowerment, helping patients understand their treatment options, navigate stigma, and take control of their wellness

Supporting Seamless Asynchronous Patient Care (hours vary daily based on task availability)
  • Providing asynchronous care to ensure timely and continuous support for patients, including ordering labs and diagnostics, interpreting results, prescribing medication, and clinical follow-up
  • Maintaining accurate, detailed patient records in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, using a wide variety of virtual tools to chart, prescribe, and connect with patients
  • Collaborating with and acting as a resource for our team of Registered Nurses and support team members, helping to support end-to-end patient care

We need someone who has:

  • Experience working in HIV Prevention and/or with the LGBTQ2AI+ community
  • Daily availability for asynchronous patient care tasks (lab reviews, prescribing, follow-ups), plus 15 hours weekly for scheduled shifts, including live consultations. Task volume may vary based on state licensure and patient needs

It would also be great if you have:
  • Experience working with gender and sexually diverse communities
  • Experience providing HIV care
  • Experience working in the private sector, a start-up, or a technology company
  • Experience working in an independent or autonomous practice setting

  • This role offers the opportunity to flexibly contribute your skills and expertise, making it ideal for those seeking a dynamic and adaptable work schedule.
