Overview

CTG is seeking an experienced Epic Orders Analyst.

Location: Remote - 3 days travel every month to CA
Duration: 10+ months

We are seeking an experienced Epic Orders Analyst to support the expansion of Epic into Ambulatory and Behavioral Health settings across the health system. This role will focus on the design, build, and optimization of provider ordering workflows within Epic Orders, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant ordering practices across outpatient and behavioral health environments.

The analyst will collaborate closely with clinical leadership, providers, pharmacy, laboratory, radiology, and behavioral health stakeholders to support standardized, evidence-based order sets and workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Application Build & Expansion

  • Design, build, and configure order sets, preference lists, and ordering workflows within Epic Orders.
  • Support expansion of Epic into ambulatory clinics and behavioral health programs.
  • Configure SmartSets, order panels, and clinical decision support (CDS) tools.
  • Align ordering workflows with specialty-specific requirements (primary care, psychiatry, therapy services, etc.).
  • Maintain order transmittal settings for ancillary departments.

Clinical Decision Support & Safety

  • Build and maintain alerts, hard stops, and best practice advisories to promote patient safety.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance for behavioral health medication ordering and documentation.
  • Collaborate with pharmacy and clinical informatics teams on medication-related workflows.
  • Support opioid stewardship, controlled substance workflows, and state prescribing regulations.

Workflow Optimization

  • Evaluate current and future-state workflows for ambulatory and behavioral health settings.
  • Standardize order sets across service lines while maintaining specialty flexibility.
  • Reduce provider burden through streamlined ordering design.
  • Participate in governance committees for order set review and approval.

Integration & Testing

  • Collaborate with application teams (Ambulatory, Behavioral Health, Pharmacy, Lab, Radiology) to ensure end-to-end workflow integrity.
  • Develop and execute test scripts for integrated workflows.
  • Support go-live planning, activation, and stabilization efforts.
  • Troubleshoot order routing, interface, and downstream system issues.

Documentation & Governance

  • Maintain comprehensive build documentation.
  • Support change control and order set governance processes.
  • Assist with training materials and workflow education as needed.

Background in settings that prioritize behavioral health as a core component of patient care is strongly preferred.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $75 to $80/hour. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
