Position overview:

The Department of Healthcare and Family Services is seeking to hire a motivated candidate to serve as a Kidcare Supervisor assigned to the Bureau of All Kids.  Under general direction, the position supervises and administers a unit providing medical casework services to applicants and recipients of public assistance and provides direct supervision and administrative direction to professional caseworkers. This position serves a functional resource to a Public Aid Lead Casework Specialist and less experienced caseworkers and assists with on-the-job training for new staff.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent team leadership skills, ability to thrive in a high volume and fast paced environment and demonstrate the ability to collaborate with team members to ensure operations are running effectively.

Essential Functions
  • Serves as a working supervisor
  • Plans, directs, and reviews the operations and activities of an All Kids unit
  • Conducts staff meetings
  • Reviews difficult and complex medical assistance cases
  • Reviews and evaluates reports of casework activities
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college with courses in social science or business. Appropriate business experience may be substituted for college on a year-for-year basis
  • Requires two (2) years professional supervisory experience in a public welfare agency, or three (3) years professional experience in welfare, teaching, public health or other public services

  • Requires the ability to utilize and maintain state issued equipment such as a laptop
