Position: Financial Coordinator

Reports To: Director of Parish Operations

Hours: 24 hours/week

We are a welcoming community seeking an experienced Financial Coordinator who values accuracy, integrity, and service while helping steward the financial resources that support our mission.

Position Summary

The Financial Coordinator manages the day-to-day financial operations of the parish, including bookkeeping, payroll coordination, financial reporting, and stewardship records. Working closely with the Director of Parish Operations, Treasurer, Finance Committee, and external accounting partners, this role helps ensure sound financial management and responsible stewardship.

Financial Operations

● Maintain parish financial records using accounting software, Realm, and related financial systems.

● Process contributions, deposits, accounts payable, and disbursements.

● Reconcile bank and investment accounts and maintain the general ledger.

● Coordinate electronic giving and online payment systems.

● Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.

Financial Reporting & Compliance

● Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.

● Assist with budget preparation and the annual audit.

● Coordinate payroll, benefits administration, and required tax reporting.

● Maintain appropriate financial controls and strict confidentiality.

Parish Support

● Support stewardship recordkeeping and annual contribution statements.

● Respond to financial questions from staff and ministry leaders.

● Collaborate with staff, volunteers, vendors, and the Finance Committee.

● Attend an occasional evening Finance Committee meeting.

QualificationsRequired

● 1–2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.

● Proficiency with QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Office.

● Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

● High degree of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

Preferred

● Experience in a church, nonprofit, or small business environment.

● Familiarity with Realm or other church management software.

● Knowledge of payroll processing and employee benefits administration.

● Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.

Compensation & Benefits
