Job description

Senior Operations Manager, Supply Chain & Commercialization

Antithesis Foods · Open Role

Philadelphia, PA · Full time · Reports to the co-founders

*A note on location: This is a Philadelphia-based role. We've listed it as Remote so all interested candidates can find it, and we're open to remote or hybrid arrangements for the right person.

Traction

  • Nationwide: Our products are on grocery shelves across the country
  • Customer Portfolio: CVS, Harris Teeter, Isagenix, Hy-Vee, a top 3 U.S. grocer, and the fastest growing grocer in the U.S.
  • $1.65MM: Non-dilutive grant funding from the NSF SBIR program
  • Founded by Cornell food scientists

What we do

Antithesis exists to change the food environment toward healthier foods. We make high protein, high fiber, better-for-you snacks and sell them to national retailers under their own private label brands. Our products beat national brands on taste and nutrition while staying broadly accessible, and we've built the company around private label because that's where grocery is headed. Private label hit a record 23.8% of US grocery units in the first half of 2026 (Circana), while national brands have shed 6.8% of units over the past four years (PLMA). McKinsey reports that 34% of US consumers say they're buying more private label than two years ago. Antithesis is positioned as an innovator in this space, modernizing the private label supplier industry.

Who we are

Antithesis was founded in 2017 by food scientists who met in graduate school at Cornell. We started by building and scaling our own CPG brands, and that operator experience shapes how we work today: hands-on, technical, and close to the product. We care deeply about public health, and we build products for the food environment we live in but designed for nutritional excellence. We're a small, fast-moving team based in Philadelphia, PA.

Apply if

• You have a deep desire to do great work and make a lasting impact on the industry and the food system. You can show us examples of the great work you've done.

• You have at least 4 years' experience in industrial food operations.

• You are excited at the prospect of working in a rapidly growing sector of the food industry.

• You want to work very hard with great people, making this a highlight of your career.

• You are a self-starter with a drive to get things done, and you hold yourself and others accountable to a high degree of excellence.

• You do hard things to turn your ideas into reality.

• You are highly skilled with PCs and data management. You integrate AI deeply into your daily workflow (or are open to doing so), and you can QC its output.

Great to haves: Scaled operations at a food or CPG company from $1MM to $15MM annual revenue. Co-manufacturer experience.

You'll thrive in this role if

• You make your own plan. You are just as comfortable paving a path as following one.

• You are very comfortable with unsolved challenges. You break them into tasks for different teams, then drive execution and follow up until it’s done.

• You manage through written and tested systems, not memory. You see documentation as leverage rather than bureaucracy.

• You plan for the future as part of the job, not as someone else's problem.

• You want the intense reality of building a startup, not just the idea of one.

If that list reads as exhausting rather than exciting, this probably isn't the right role. If it reads like your ideal week, we'd love to talk.

About the role

You will run the operational engine of Antithesis: the day-to-day flow of ingredients, packaging, production, and finished goods that turns retailer commitments into product on shelf. You'll be the primary contact for our co-manufacturers and suppliers, run commercialization for new products and customers, and drive continuous improvement across the supply chain. Your job is to both build and execute the system that makes operational excellence the standard.

You'll report directly to the co-founders and have responsibility over how operations run. As we scale from a handful of national retail programs to many, this role grows with the company.

Compensation

This is a full-time salaried role at $75K-$115K, compensation commensurate on experience with substantive equity stake included. Additional benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, and PTO. You will travel to manufacturing sites across the U.S. and to industry tradeshows.

You will work on high-level strategy and get into the details alongside every member of our core team. Working closely with leadership, you will help shape the company's direction for years to come. Expect to learn fast and build skills to set you up for future career success and acceleration.

What you own

Operations

  • Manage sourcing of ingredients and packaging to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and continuity of supply
  • Procurement, production, and shipping management
  • Analyze and optimize product-level profitability, including ingredient, packaging, and freight costs
  • Continuously improve operational efficiency, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions
  • Develop and track KPIs related to operational performance
  • Finished goods inventory management, at co-packer and in 3PLs
  • Manage contracting with ingredient suppliers, supplier relations, and supplier onboarding
  • Backup supplier program
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including delays, shortages, and cost volatility
  • Use AI to build tools that let us be more ambitious and punch far above our weight class

Product

  • Execute the logistics and operations for pilot R&D trials
  • Run the operations for new product commercialization
  • Applied reformulation with new suppliers, vendors, and ingredients
  • Work with packaging suppliers and co-packers to explore and price new formats
  • Work with R&D to source new and backup materials

Sales

  • Customer onboarding, price negotiations, cost improvement campaigns, and supplier form ownership
  • Inventory exposure management

Systems

  • Drive adoption of tools and technologies that enable better operational visibility and decision-making
  • Evaluate new vendors and tools

How to apply

Send a resume, something you've built (link, file, or photos, nothing proprietary please!), and a blurb on the worst operational fire you have put out and the system you built so it won’t happen again.
