  • Deliver brief, focused interventions and therapeutic support for patients requiring mental health services.
  • Develop relapse prevention plans and provide ongoing support to help patients maintain stability and engage in healthier choices.
  • Document patientsโ€™ progress and clinical information accurately in treatment charts to ensure continuity of care.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and adjust treatment approaches as necessary, actively communicating with primary care providers regarding patientsโ€™ treatment status.
  • Utilize available community resources to facilitate comprehensive care, ensuring patients are linked to appropriate services.

  • Maintain compliance with all ethical standards and regulations concerning mental health practice.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, contributing to overall clinic operations and enhancing patient care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The counselor will work with a diverse patient population, addressing a variety of mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, and other psychosocial issues. The focus is not only on individual treatment but also on understanding the impact of mental health on families and the community. The counselor will play a key role in risk assessment and early intervention strategies for at-risk clients to prevent deterioration of their conditions.

Qualifications
  • A minimum Masterโ€™s Degree in Clinical Counseling is required.
  • Must hold a current LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor) license in the state of Texas.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of mental health assessments, treatment planning, and therapeutic techniques is essential.
  • Ability to evaluate and assess individual patient needs and adapt care as required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary for documentation and collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Demonstrated ability to build trusting relationships with patients and their families.
  • Familiarity with ethical standards applicable to clinical counseling is mandatory.
Preferred Experience
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred to better serve our diverse client base.
  • Experience working within a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) or community health setting is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing effective therapeutic interventions.
Compensation and Benefits
