What is a remote operations support specialist?

A Remote Operations Support Specialist is a professional who provides administrative, technical, and logistical support to organizations from a remote location. Their responsibilities often include coordinating schedules, managing data, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. They use digital communication tools to collaborate with teams and may serve as a liaison between departments or with external clients. This role is essential for organizations with distributed or virtual teams, ensuring operations run efficiently regardless of physical location.

How does a remote operations support specialist typically collaborate with other departments while working remotely?

As a Remote Operations Support Specialist, you’ll regularly interact with colleagues from departments such as IT, customer service, and management through virtual communication tools like email, video conferencing, and project management platforms. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential to ensure seamless coordination and maintain productivity despite the physical distance. Building relationships with team members remotely can be a challenge, but proactive communication and leveraging collaborative technologies can help bridge the gap.

In this role, you'll be the trusted, dependable voice our solar installers rely on-supporting them across the OneEthos loan platform and Bodhi customer experience software. You will onboard and train new installers, monitor installer health, and proactively step in to resolve issues before they escalate. Above all, you'll create a warm, human-centered support experience that reflects our commitment to ethical, transparent solar financing.

  • Build trusted relationships through consistent, human-centered interactions
  • Ensure installers feel heard, supported, and confident in every engagement

  • Welcome and onboard new installers into the network
  • Train sales representatives, owners, and admins on systems and operational processes
  • Enable installers to confidently navigate tools and workflows from day one

  • Assist installers with loan applications to ensure a seamless pipeline from submission to completion
  • Take full ownership of installer issues and follow through to resolution
  • Maintain clear communication and accountability throughout the support lifecycle

Installer Health Monitoring & Proactive Support

  • Monitor installer engagement and performance signals to identify risks
  • Proactively reach out to address concerns before escalation
  • Support long-term installer success and retention through early intervention

  • Share installer insights and feedback to inform product improvements and innovation
  • Identify referral opportunities and collaborate across teams within the organization

Champion Our Mission, Protect What Matters

  • Stay informed of applicable regulatory requirements and complete all mandatory compliance and IT training.

  • Strong customer support or installer-facing experience with a focus on relationship building
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with active listening ability
  • Proven problem-solving mindset with ownership of issues through resolution
  • Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies and platforms
  • Familiarity with financial services, lending, or banking regulations is a plus

Entrepreneurial Self-Starter

You take initiative, work independently with minimal supervision, and thrive in a fast-paced startup environment with shifting priorities.

You manage time effectively, multitask with ease, and maintain strong attention to detail while handling competing priorities.

Master Communicator

You communicate with clarity, empathy, and professionalism, building trust and maintaining strong relationships at every level.

You bring (or are eager to build) knowledge of financial products, services, and regulations while supporting a mission-driven lending model.

Tech-Forward Mindset

You embrace new tools, adapt quickly to change, and leverage technology to improve processes and experiences.

Team Player Mentality

You collaborate effectively, bring positive energy, and contribute to shared goals while supporting colleagues and installers alike.
