Job description

SOLUTIONS ENGINEER

Purpose

The Solutions Engineer supports the sales team by rapidly translating client needs into actionable, client-focused solutions. This role prioritizes speed, collaboration, and momentum over perfection—recognizing that timely delivery, clear documentation, and continuous iteration drive better client outcomes than delayed precision. Solutions Engineer partners closely with clients and internal teams to move opportunities forward efficiently while ensuring solutions remain aligned to Corsica standards and client business objectives.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Rapidly develop and deliver client-facing solutions, including Statements of Work (SOWs) and Bills of Material (BOMs), with a bias toward speed, iteration, and forward progress.
  • Collaborate with Sales and internal technical teams to translate client requirements into clear, supportable architectures aligned with Corsica standards.
  • Consult directly with clients and internal stakeholders to clarify requirements, document assumptions, and adjust solutions as new information becomes available.
  • Partner with delivery and project teams to ensure sales-scoped solutions are actionable, complete, and ready for implementation.
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of Corsica’s service catalog, core technologies, and evolving offerings.
  • Contribute to the evaluation of new products, services, and solution approaches, including support for proofs of concept when required.
  • Actively participate in Sales and Sales Engineering workflows, ensuring opportunities are documented and compliant with company processes.
  • Accurately and consistently document time, activities, and progress in the PSA to ensure visibility, accountability, and operational efficiency.

Education, Experience, and Certifications

Required

  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in IT, including roles in engineering, systems, networking, cloud, security, or related technical disciplines.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading pre-sales solution design, scoping, or consulting activities.

Preferred

  • 4+ year in Solutions Engineer or similar role
  • Experience with Autotask CRM/PSA.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

The position typically operates in a remote work environment. This role will also be expected to make use of specialized software for troubleshooting and maintaining systems and infrastructure.

Travel

This position does not require any regular travel; however, on rare occasions, overnight travel may be required to other Corsica locations.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop or kneel, talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds without assistance. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. 

Position Type/Expected Hours

The position is full-time. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with additional hours as needed to complete objectives.
