Overview

Eide Machinery Sales, Inc. is seeking a skilled Field Service Millwright / Industrial Machinery Installer to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the successful installation, troubleshooting, and repair of heavy industrial machinery, primarily within the truss-building industry. You will train under the Field Services Manager with the opportunity to grow into a Lead Field Service Technician role.

In the field, you will independently manage industrial machinery installations in complex environments while maintaining customer satisfaction. In the shop, this role requires updating parts records, filing reports, job planning, and general fabrication and manufacturing duties.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and maintain industrial machinery at customer sites and in the shop
  • Perform precision equipment layout, squaring, leveling, and calibration
  • Rig, move, and position heavy equipment using hoists, forklifts, and on-site support
  • Serve as the primary on‐site customer contact, ensuring a professional and courteous service
  • Diagnose mechanical and technical issues and implement solutions
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, including timekeeping and expense reports
  • Track and manage parts usage, ensuring inventory levels are properly maintained
  • Keep tools and equipment organized and in working condition
  • Assist with general fabrication and manufacturing duties in the shop when not on-site

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED. Further technical education is desired. Mechanical, millwright, and rigging experience is desired

Experience:

  • 2+ years of welding and fabrication experience (torches, plasma cutters, MIG; TIG a plus)
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement tools

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, including precision measurement tools
  • Ability to drive a forklift and operate lifting devices
  • Must have a working knowledge of precision tools and processes used in placement and leveling of machinery

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50-70 lbs and perform physical maintenance work
  • Comfortable working in industrial environments with necessary PPE (gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.)

Additional Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Must obtain and maintain a valid passport (international travel may be required, primarily to Canada)
  • Strong time management, self-motivation, and problem-solving skills
  • Must be a team player -- must interact professionally and work well with the team and customers
