Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program - REMOTE  Position Overview

The Chair of the Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program in Nursing & Health Sciences reports to the Dean. The Chair is responsible for managing all aspects, including the daily operations, of the FNP Program, which includes supervision of full and/or part-time faculty, development of the curriculum, programming, course offerings, program evaluation, and accreditation. The Chair of the FNP program will mentor and guide full and part-time faculty and serve as an interface between faculty and administration. The Chair of the FNP program will evaluate part-time faculty annually. Student enrollment, academic progress, and retention are the responsibility of the FNP Programs Chair. This role can be performed remote or hybrid.

  • Provides academic advising and support to up to 30 students, guiding them through successful admission, progression, and completion of their graduate education programs. (40%)
  • Contributes to the overall success of the School of Nursing (30%)
  • Teaches courses in graduate nursing programs (10%)
  • Supervises, trains, and evaluates part-time faculty and advisors (10%)

  • FNP, MSN required, terminal degree in nursing preferred;
  • Current licensure as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Massachusetts required;

  • Documented record of academic scholarship in a related field;
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor students, particularly at the master’s level;
  • Evidence of outstanding teaching competencies, including online, lab, or simulation;
  • Evidence of a commitment to service;
  • Active participation in professional organizations;
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills with a high interest in working with non-traditional and adult students;
  • Self-directed with excellent organizational skills;
  • Being detail-oriented and student-centered is essential to the position;
  • Strong computer experience, which must include abilities to work effectively with MS Office suite products, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google Suite (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) and Canvas Learning Management System.
