Job description

About the Job
Remote Psychiatric Provider - PMHNP / PA-C
Altheda Medical Center
Remote | United States | Full-Time | W-2 Employment
***This is a full-time W-2 employment position with comprehensive employer-paid benefits, not a 1099 contractor role.
About Altheda Medical Center
Altheda Medical Center is a growing multi-specialty outpatient medical center focused on providing accessible, high-quality, and coordinated care. Our services include primary care, psychiatry, urgent care, medical aesthetics, and specialty medical services.
We are building a psychiatry program that is integrated with the broader medical needs of our patients. Our goal is to provide thoughtful, timely, and patient-centered psychiatric care supported by a strong clinical and operational infrastructure.
We believe providers do their best work when they have the right systems behind them: reliable administrative support, thoughtful workflows, technology that reduces unnecessary burden, and a care model that prioritizes both patient experience and provider sustainability.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced psychiatric provider, either a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, to join our psychiatry team in a fully remote W-2 position.
This role is best suited for a provider who values clinical quality, patient continuity, strong documentation, schedule stability, and working within a supportive outpatient medical practice.
The provider will evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with psychiatric and behavioral health needs, including medication management and longitudinal follow-up care.
Compensation
This is a full-time W-2 employment position with comprehensive employer-paid benefits, not a 1099 contractor role.
Base Salary: $120,000 annually
Estimated Annual Bonus Opportunity: Approximately $15,000
Projected Annual Cash Compensation: Approximately $135,000, with potential upside based on productivity, collections, and KPI performance
Estimated Total Position Value (including cost of benefits): $153,000 - $160,000
Our bonus structure is reviewed quarterly and is designed to recognize provider contribution, productivity, quality of care, documentation standards, and overall performance.
This role is structured as a total employment package. In addition to base salary and bonus opportunity, the position includes 100% employer-paid employee medical insurance, employer-sponsored dental and vision benefits, malpractice coverage, CME support, retirement match, PTO, and a fully remote Monday-Friday schedule.
Schedule:
  • Full-time schedule.
  • Monday through Friday.
  • Fully remote position.
  • No weekends.
  • No on-call requirement
Benefits:
Altheda offers a strong W-2 benefits package, including:
  • 100% employer-paid employee medical, dental, and vision insurance premium.
  • Malpractice insurance fully covered by Altheda.
  • Generous paid time off, including vacation days, sick days, and paid holidays.
  • PTO increases by 2 business days each year after the first year, up to the applicable company maximum (31 days).
  • CME support up to $1,000 annually upon request and approval.
  • 401K Retirement plan eligibility with employer match upon enrollment.
  • Quarterly performance-based bonus opportunity (distributed quarterly as opposed to annually).
  • Fully remote W-2 employment structure.
  • Monday-Friday schedule.
  • No weekends and no on-call requirement.
  • Administrative and operational support.
  • Scheduling support.
  • Support with prior authorizations and administrative workflows.
  • AI-assisted charting tools to support more efficient documentation and reduce administrative burden.
  • Long-term growth opportunities within a developing psychiatry department.
Providers remain responsible for reviewing, editing, and finalizing all clinical documentation.
Clinical Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include:
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits.
  • Provide medication management for patients with psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
  • Develop and update treatment plans.
  • Provide patient education regarding diagnoses, medications, side effects, and treatment expectations.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and clinically appropriate documentation.
  • Coordinate care with other providers when clinically appropriate.
  • Communicate clearly with patients, support staff, and the clinical team.
  • Follow company policies regarding prescribing, controlled substances, patient communication, documentation, and care continuity.
  • Support reliable follow-up access for established patients.
  • Manage a growing outpatient psychiatric patient panel responsibly and professionally.
Qualifications:
Qualified candidates should have:
  • Active and unrestricted Pennsylvania license.
  • Active DEA registration or eligibility to obtain DEA registration.
  • Experience in outpatient psychiatry or behavioral health medication management.
  • Strong clinical judgment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfort practicing independently in a remote care environment.
  • Strong documentation habits.
  • Familiarity with EMRs, e-prescribing systems, and telehealth workflows.
  • Compassionate and professional approach to psychiatric care.
  • Ability to collaborate with administrative and clinical support teams.
  • Commitment to patient continuity and responsible follow-up care.
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is someone who:
  • Wants a stable W-2 remote psychiatry position.
  • Values patient continuity and long-term therapeutic trust.
  • Is comfortable managing and growing an outpatient psychiatric panel.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally with patients and staff.
  • Takes ownership of documentation, follow-up, and clinical responsibilities.
  • Appreciates structured support rather than working alone as an independent contractor.
  • Values quality care, operational consistency, and team-based workflows.
  • Is looking for long-term professional growth within a growing outpatient medical center.

Why Join Altheda?
At Altheda, we are building a psychiatry program with the support of a broader outpatient medical organization. Providers are not expected to operate in isolation. Our team provides administrative support, scheduling support, operational workflows, and technology tools designed to reduce unnecessary burden and support better patient care.
This role offers the opportunity to practice psychiatry remotely while being part of a collaborative, growing medical center. It is a strong fit for a provider who wants the stability of W-2 employment, the flexibility of remote work, and the support of an organization investing in long-term psychiatric care access.
