Job description

Position Summary

MAG Aerospace is seeking a Sr. Software Product Engineer who will to provide full software lifecycle management across Product Lead Strategic Spectrum Warfare (PL SSW). This is a fantastic opportunity to join a fast-growing team with multiple opportunities for upward advancement supporting EW&C. The EW&C program delivers critical capabilities to counter current and future threats, enabling the next generation of warfighting capabilities from sensor to Soldier worldwide.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Oversee vendor multi-disciplinary software engineers including software architects, developers, integrators, and testers.
  • Maintain product oversight and definition for custom classified Software Defined Radio waveforms integration using various frameworks through partnerships with NSA and military intelligence partners.
  • Maintain full software product lifecycle management, including product definition, requirements, design, integration & test, and system software deployment for PL SSW portfolio.
  • Conduct regular product updates, integration, and deployment through Research Design Technology and Evaluation (RDT&E) technology insertions and system modernization efforts.
  • Agile team product owner engaged in daily agile team execution and regular customer interaction through standups, program increment planning, backlog management.
  • Conduct continuous COTS/GOTS integration and management including license procurement, management, and obsolescence.
  • Conduct full stack software engineering, architecture and design and development for the portfolio.
  • Sensor data management and orchestration through various middleware technologies including Integrated Sensor Architecture (ISA) and JICD.
  • Conduct full software engineering management support including patch and security maintenance, cybersecurity updates for Accreditation & Authorization, media duplication & management, remote software deployment and support, and non-destructive software updates.
  • Develop software estimates and review vendor proposals related to software engineering.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
Requirements
  • Clearance: Active Secret Clearance
  • 10 or more years' experience in software engineering. Will consider 4 years of additional experience within software engineering in lieu of degree
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or in an IT related field
  • Experience with software tools, including Photon, Salvage, Visual Studio, Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, GIT, Rational Team Concert (RTC), JIRA, Confluence, SVN, Nexus, CentOS, MacOS, Windows, SQL, ONEROOF, Niagara Files (NiFi), ArcGIS, RaptorX, REDHAWK, Nimble Eagle, GEOnet, EWPMT, IEWTPT, Integrated Sensor Architecture (ISA), Swagger, GNU Radio, and JICD.
  • Working understanding of Digital Signal Processing (DSP), Radio Frequency (RF) principles & processing techniques, DSP frameworks, data management and SIGINT product development & prosecution for full-scale mission support from collector to consumer.
  • Working understanding of SIGINT processing techniques including real-time wideband signal processing and narrowband channelization & DSP taps with Photon, TDOA & FDOA based geolocation, Direction Finding, and spectrum management.
  • Working knowledge of Object-Oriented Programming methodologies and Service Oriented Architecture principles and various middleware technologies to enable product development and distributed team integration.
  • Experience managing full software product lifecycle management, including product definition, requirements, design, integration & test, and system software deployment for a DOD acquisition program office.
  • Experience conducting full software engineering management support including patch and security maintenance, cybersecurity updates for Accreditation & Authorization, media duplication & management, remote software deployment and support, and non-destructive software updates.
  • Experience developing software estimates and review of vendor technical proposals.
  • Experience implementing Agile and DevSecOps methodologies and processes for software intensive systems.

Special Note

The position is contingent upon candidate's ability to meet physical and medical requirements as needed by the position; including compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local jurisdictional requirements. This position requires 25% travel to Army and contractor locations within CONUS. The selected candidate will need to obtain and complete a judication of a Top Secret Clearance to maintain employment in this position.

The salary range for this position is between $175,000 and $200,000.
