Job description

An integrated healthcare organization is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) in the Bronx, NY area to provide psychiatric assessment, medication management, and clinical leadership within a collaborative behavioral healthcare model.
About the Opportunity:

  • Shift: Day shift
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday
  • Hours: Standard business
  • Setting: Telehealth / Remote (occasional in-person and home-based patient care as needed)
Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop individualized, evidence-based treatment recommendations
  • Diagnose and treat psychiatric and behavioral health conditions within the NP scope of practice
  • Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in alignment with clinical and regulatory standards
  • Provide consultation to behavioral health care managers, primary care providers, and interdisciplinary teams
  • Monitor patient progress, coordinate treatment adjustments, and refer to specialists or higher levels of care when appropriate
  • Document patient care accurately and participate in quality improvement, education, and multidisciplinary care coordination
Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in nursing from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • Graduate-level specialization in psychiatric or mental health nursing
  • Current, unrestricted New York State Registered Professional Nurse and Nurse Practitioner licenses
  • New York State NP specialty certification in Psychiatry/Psychiatric-Mental Health
  • Current national board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner through an approved certifying organization
  • Current DEA registration and New York State prescribing privileges
  • Compliance with New York State requirements for prescribing controlled substances
  • Active CAQH profile
  • Active Medicare and Medicaid provider identification numbers
  • Ability to provide occasional in-person or home-based care when required
  • Strong communication, clinical leadership, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
  • Ability to work effectively with patients from diverse populations and cultural backgrounds
Desired Skills:
  • At least one year of Nurse Practitioner experience, including prescribing responsibilities
  • Doctor of Nursing Practice degree
  • Bilingual
  • Experience in primary care, internal medicine, home care, or integrated behavioral health
  • Experience caring for patients with complex medical, psychiatric, cognitive, or behavioral conditions
