What is a remote non technical project manager?

A Remote Non Technical Project Manager oversees projects that do not primarily involve technical or IT-related tasks, such as marketing campaigns, business operations, or administrative initiatives, while working from a remote location. Their responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and executing projects, managing timelines and budgets, and communicating with stakeholders to ensure project goals are met. Unlike technical project managers, they focus more on business processes, team coordination, and resource management rather than software development or IT infrastructure.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote non technical project manager?

To thrive as a Remote Non Technical Project Manager, you need strong organizational skills, experience in project planning, and a background in business or management, often supported by a bachelor's degree. Familiarity with project management tools like Asana, Trello, or Microsoft Project, and certifications such as PMP or CAPM, are typically advantageous. Exceptional communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities are crucial soft skills for coordinating remote teams and stakeholders. These skills and qualifications ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and with effective collaboration despite the challenges of remote work.

How do remote non technical project managers typically coordinate and communicate with distributed teams to ensure project success?

Remote non-technical project managers often use a combination of collaboration tools such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and project management platforms like Asana or Trello to facilitate clear communication and task tracking. They schedule regular video meetings to align on goals, provide updates, and address challenges. Building strong relationships, setting clear expectations, and fostering open communication are key, as these managers oversee progress and resolve issues without the benefit of in-person interactions. Effective remote project managers are proactive about checking in with team members and stakeholders to keep everyone informed and engaged throughout the project lifecycle.

Job description

About Us

Coderio designs and delivers scalable digital solutions for global companies. We combine strong technical expertise with a product mindset to lead complex software initiatives end-to-end. We work with international clients, value autonomy and clear communication, and build long-term partnerships through technical excellence.

More information: http://coderio.com

This is a hybrid position based in Miami, Florida. Candidates must currently reside in the Miami area.ย

We're hiring a Technical Project Manager who doubles as a technical Business Analyst for a banking
and payments modernization program. You'll run delivery - planning, tracking, and stakeholder
management - while also doing the hands-on BA work: eliciting requirements, defining how systems
should interact with engineering, and documenting business and process flows. You don't need to be an
engineer, but you do need to be fluent in modern cloud, API-driven, and event-driven systems at a
conceptual level, with real depth in the payments domain.ย

What You Can Expect (Responsibilities)
Technical Project Management:

Own delivery planning, scheduling, and tracking across the engineering team.
Manage scope, risks, dependencies, and stakeholder communication.
Run agile ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives) and keep the backlog healthy.
Report status, blockers, and timelines to stakeholders and leadership.
Coordinate releases and cross-team dependencies.

Technical Business Analysis:

Elicit, analyze, and document functional and non-functional requirements.
Translate business needs into technical user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
Partner with the Tech Lead to define and document how systems and APIs should interact.
Map and document business processes, system interactions, and payment flows (e.g.
sequence diagrams, BPMN, process maps).
Maintain traceability between requirements, designs, and delivered work.
Requirements
6+ years combined PM/BA experience, including 2+ years onย banking/payments program
Proven project/delivery management in software teams (Agile/Scrum and/or Kanban).
Technical Business Analyst background - able to hold a detailed technical conversation with
engineers.
Banking and payments domain expertise - strong understanding of payments processing and
modernization; familiarity with industry standards such as ISO 20022 and legacy formats like
FAIM/Fedwire is a major advantage.
Conceptual fluency with modern cloud, microservices, APIs, and event-driven systems (you
don't have to code, but you must understand the patterns and the vocabulary).
Requirements documentation and modeling (user stories, acceptance criteria, sequence/flow
diagrams).
Strong stakeholder management and written/verbal communication.
Hands-on with delivery tooling (Jira, Confluence, or equivalents).
ย
AI & Agentic Skillsย

Comfortable using AI tools day-to-day for requirements drafting, documentation, and analysis -
with judgment about accuracy.
Able to scope and write requirements for AI/agentic features - defining agent behaviors,
tool/function boundaries, human-in-the-loop checkpoints, and acceptance criteria for non-
deterministic outputs.
Understands AI governance in financial services - auditability, explainability, and data handling,
and how those shape requirements and sign-off.
Bonus: familiarity with concepts like MCP, RAG, and how agents consume APIs/events.
Nice to Have
Exposure to cloud-based platforms and modern delivery practices.
Diagramming/modeling tools (Lucidchart, draw.io, Miro, BPMN tools).
Background in software engineering or QA before moving into PM/BA.
Agile certifications (CSM, PSM) or PM certs (PMP / PRINCE2) - useful, not required.
Deeper payments experience - wire transfers, real-time payments, clearing/settlement, or
regulatory/compliance reporting.
Benefits

On-site collaboration in a dynamic and fast-paced environment in the Miami / Fort Lauderdale area.

Long-term contract engagement with high impact and autonomy.

Strategic and high-visibility role within a modern engineering culture.

Opportunity to influence technical strategy, especially regarding modern event-driven architectures and AI integrations.

Collaborative international team with strong technical leadership
