Position Overview

Woolpert is seeking a Program Director to lead business development and growth initiatives within the Industrial/Advanced Manufacturing practice. This role requires a licensed Architect or Engineer and is primarily responsible for driving sales and expanding market presence through the development, cultivation, and strengthening of client relationships. Remote work options available for the right individual. 

The Program Director will collaborate across multiple practice areas and service lines to identify and develop new business opportunities, ensuring that services are delivered in alignment with Woolpert’s commitment to excellence and its position as an industry leader. This role plays a critical part in shaping strategic growth initiatives while maintaining a high standard of client satisfaction and technical performance. The Program Director reports to the Private/Public Market Director.

Business Development

  • Strengthen and expand existing client relationships to identify and pursue additional project opportunities aligned with the service line, practice area, and firm-wide strategy.
  • Develop new client relationships that align with targeted client profiles, project types, and overall business objectives.
  • Position and promote Woolpert as an industry leader within assigned markets, practices, and services to both new and existing clients.
  • Provide early-stage project feasibility assessments and contribute strategic input to project design and planning.

Collaboration and Client Support

  • Mentor and support Project Managers in negotiating project scope, schedules, fees, and contract terms.
  • Partner with Project Managers to proactively identify, address, and resolve project issues that may impact client objectives or satisfaction.
  • Clearly define, communicate, and manage client needs and expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Maintain continuous and proactive communication with stakeholders (clients, client leadership, and internal teams) to anticipate, address, and resolve project-related challenges.

What You Will Bring:

  •  Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline required.
  • 15+ years of relevant professional experience within the Industrial/Advanced Manufacturing sector.
  • Current professional licensure/registration in the applicable discipline.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, and PowerPoint; working knowledge of AutoCAD and Bluebeam required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed to support the objectives and demands of the practice area.

  • Exhibits an enterprising, innovative, and proactive leadership and management approach.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to influence, guide, and inspire teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to research, define, and manage multiple project scopes, schedules, and budgets concurrently.
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, vendors, leadership, and internal teams.
  • Strong negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent facilitation and meeting leadership skills, with the ability to drive productive outcomes.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver clear, compelling presentations.
  • Solid understanding of project management principles, with the ability to facilitate technical discussions as needed.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Engaging professional demeanor supported by strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
